I just realized that in the butterfly room of the museum, there seems to be a botanical garden too.

See how this monstera looks exactly the same in front of the house and in the museum. Could be just the same 3D model for the ease of it. But since the other planters of the museum room are still empty, it makes me think if we can donate one kind of each plant for them to propagate it?

I always wondered why we can't have a botanical garden since the game includes so many beautiful plants. Thefore I had to make a plant room for myself every game. :)

What do you think?

I didn't think of this, but now I really hope you're right! The empty spaces and labels really make me think you're onto something. Maybe it will just be a matter of collecting the different plant colours through breeding on the island? And then the labels are the latin name for the plants. My boyfriend would love a botanical garden to collect haha, he's a gardener and proud.

Editing to say this also makes me more hopeful for increased plant variety which I've sorely wanted in the previous games.

Editing again to say, I wonder if the seasons will be more impactful, so you can only grow some plants in certain seasons? I'm probably getting way ahead of myself and I'm sure there's shots in the Direct that disprove this theory already. But I can dream.

i think a botanical garden would be great. i love all the plants and it would be wonderful having them displayed. Maybe completing the botanical gardens could give us the silver or gold watering can?

It does look like it's something we'd be donating to, for the butterflies.

Oh great eye for detail! Looks absoultly possible with the empty space. Would be a cool new feature :)

Well spotted!

If so, it means bushes are confirmed (for everyone who was worried about that)!

Ah just noticed that the labels are probably for the butterflys?

While I do like the idea of having a botanical garden, something tells me by looking at this picture that those plants and flowers may getting automatically added once you donated certain butterflies or bugs in general. Like that the whole exhibit is at the beginning empty, not even decorated and all, and once you start to donate, it slowly change into something like this.

Another option could be that you can decide what kind of plants and flowers you want to have there. Like that it is like a sort of botanical garden, but still gets called the bug exhibit.

Oh I hope so!!! I absolutely love all the plants in the game and it would be nice to see them all together.
If it is the case that would also confirm the bushes bring back since some are on the left side c:

Heh.

"Day 97 of searching for the blue rose for the museum. They still won't grow."

yeah, in the top left of the picture, those are hydrangeas. im like 95% sure

i hope plants are a new category, cuz they’re one of my fav aspects of the game. if they are their own category, id like to think plant variety has increased substantially, which id love and hope is true. it def makes sense with the deserted island theme

Haha I thought the same thing! I never was able to grow purple pansies in NL.

Good spot to the OP though! That would be awesome if we can donate hybrids to the museum.

That would be so neat, especially if the paintings don't return, as a way to add a new goal to the game. It could be that the number of plants increase as you donate more butterflies, but I think there's a good case to be made that a botanical garden truly could appear as an exhibit.

Good catch! Donating some plant would be really fun! It's amazing how many little details everyone sees, so hopefully we are able to do this, because it would nice to have something new to donate to the museum. :)

That would be such a cool addition, definitely gives you another reason to get hybrid flowers.
