After digging up my old DS phat that my uncle gave me, I played Wild World again after quite a long time (I was surprised that some of my villagers were still there) Victoria said to me, "Jarod is that you?! Your disappearing act made me worry! Did you go on a vacation? You seem to have grown taller!" Something like that. And I started talking to some villagers. Margie said,"I'm having trouble catching a pill bug lately. I probably will never get one....kinda like a boyfriend*heartbreak emotion* I kinda loled at this one. Is it just me or is the Wild World villager dialog better than New Leaf's? (Also,Whitney moved in my WW town today so i'm quite happy :D Now my mission is to trade Diana for Whitney in my NL town.Notadvertisingplsdontbanme) Who could forget the villager backstories?

Yeah WW dialog is waaay better than new leaf's. The crankies aren't as cranky in NL and the snooties aren't as mean :( I don't understand why there decided to change it like this but also I find a lot that villagers repeat things. Probably because only one person was in control of the dialog. (I think ~ saw it on the credits).

Lets not forget that some children cried becquse Resetti was being 'rude' and parents complained. That could probably be one of the reasons. Also added a poll :v

Seriously?! Kids cried over that? xD

Yes,or so I have heard. The only thing I did was get pissed because he kept nagging for minutes. "DAMN IT RESETTI I JUST WANT TO PLAY!!"

That's pretty much what I did :L I got super annoyed at the game he would make me play over and over again ~ each time saying that I got the answer wrong.

Gamecube>WW>NL
its just ridiculous :( i miss the mean ones
i was only 5 when i played GC, i never got upset over mean villagers, i just used to whack them lol, they need to stop trying to make out kids are so sensitive ><

In WW there was an actual challenge in befriending the crankies and snooties. Now you just have to talk to them three times and they start acting all nice. What's the point of cranky villagers, there aren't cranky and snooty villagers, there aren't snooty? I don't really get it.
Yeah, it's a game for kids, but still! It's a game. And a cranky can be cranky without insulting someone or at least not in a way that would make kids cry.

I'd get sadder at pokemon! The Crankies use to yell at me and say what do you want? But now they say hi neighbor!

The only game I've played in the series is New Leaf, but I do agree that cranky and snooty villagers shouldn't be so soft. Kids are going to meet mean people in their lives, it's life! If they get upset they can have the normals comfort them. :P

As far the Resetti thing goes, my sister used to play Animal Crossing for GameCube all the time when we were younger, and she encountered him once. She thought he was funny, and that it was amusing that the developers included him.

I like that snooties and crankies were more challenging but all in all New Leaf dialog is better in my opinion.
I like how they seem to have amped up the peppies personality (in my eyes they have) added Uchis which it's nice to have NEW dialog. And overall the dialog doesn't seem like it wears out more like WW.
I also like how there's more communication it feels like there is.
So New Leaf gets my vote.

But this isn't real life now is it? And resetti upset many kids which is why he was nearly taken out of New Leaf due to high complaint. Also While some kids are affected differently by things of course some will be amused but for others Resetti can be a real pain and i as a child almost cried because it upset me so much i'd spend ten minutes on one thing i'd continue to get wrong. It's good they've toned things down but they shouldn't have made them
Soft but toned slightly to where they're nice without losing personality.

i didn't play ww, and i can't remember the gc version since it was years ago, but nl makes the villagers repeat a lot of the dialog

Making that a reason is kinda stupid Nintendo. If you're gonna make me feel that Crankies and Snooties are not like Crankies and Snooties, might as well not have cranky and snooty personality types. How old were the children who were crying? Not older than 5? It's okay to remove resetti, but making Crankies act like goodytwoshoes isn't gonna help me improve my gaming experience tbh.

Aww, poor kids crying. I certainly don't believe that the majority of the audience were crying because of Resetti.

But regardless, Wild World definitely was more interesting in terms of dialogue. The villagers were actually cranky or snooty or whatever else they were destined to be. :')

NL's dialogue is pretty horrible honestly. It seems like there were a very few amount of children (the ones that were overly spoiled and were told by their parents that they're the most special little kiddies in the world) that likely cried about Resetti, because everything in their life must be made of flowers and happy things. Parents complained to Nintendo, Nintendo watered down everything again. When I was a kid, I knew the difference between video games and real life. I hate how because there's a select few amount of children that cried about something, it must be catered to make them happier.

Resetti, yell at me more plz.

Let me tell you I'm worthless. (Gamecube Resetti was the best, seriously.)

Seriously, people pamper kids too much these days. In the future everyone's going to be living with their parents until their 50 because everything is oh so scary.

I noticed that Nintendo, over time, has been trying to cater to what parents want more and more. If you ever played the Pokemon games, you may have noticed the painful decline of actual rival NPCs in the game. Everyone is over the top friendly, and you have no real rivals, no one one to really put you in your place and try to tell you how it is.

I miss you Gary.

It hurts so bad.

Yeah, I agree that WW had better dialogue. Villagers were way more fun to talk to than they are in NL. NL is a far superior game overall, but it's dialogue is average. :p
City Folk had the worst dialogue so far. They just repeated the same thing over and over ._.

Oh jeez, Resetti made me cry once. Bad memory. XD It was the first time he appeared and I didn't at all understand what was going on.

I cried once because of Resetti, but it certainly wasn't because I was an "overly spoiled" child or that I didn't understand the difference between video games and reality. And my parents definitely didn't care enough to complain to Nintendo, lol.
I cried because I was only seven and I thought I'd broken the new game that I loved.

It's too bad that Nintendo has had to water down the dialogue and make the game "friendlier" though. I love Resetti, I think he's hilarious. I personally wish he wasn't optional this time around c:

I'm fine with Resetti being optional (perfect solution in my opinion), but I'm not happy with cranky and snooty villagers that are not cranky or snooty at all. That is one of the few things that really hurt. New Leaf has improved a lot, but they just used too much softener.

I'm glad Resseti is optional, really not into his pointless whining. But I would like to see the villagers not repeating themselves trice in a minute!
