New Leaf town's that are lost or corrupted

I thought that my acnl save file was saved to sd card, and I sold my old 3ds and cartridge on eBay in December of last year. I brought another 3ds as well as another copy of acnl in late January of this year, and I couldn't find my save file. I was literally frustrated, so I had to start from scratch all over again. My previous new leaf town basically gone but not forgotten because I have great memories.

I want to take this opportunity to mourn the lost of my villagers and everything else in my old New Leaf town. R.I.P Old Stencil, I know y'all well.

I think that when you have a physical copy of the game, you need it to use the same save. It's only when you have a digital copy that you only need the SD card (which is why you can have multiple towns by having multiple cartridges).

I'm sorry that you ended up losing your town! Maybe this is a chance to change things up or to try to recreate your town.
