- Silver shovel: After building the second floor of the museum and donating 15 fossils, you can buy it from the museum shop. When you strike a money rock with the silver shovel, it sometimes produces ores instead of Bells.
- Gold shovel: Buy 50 fertilisers from the Garden Shop (they can only be bought once you upgrade the Nooklings' shop to TIY) then talk to Leif to be given the gold shovel. It can be used to plant money trees.
- Silver axe: You can buy this from the island shop for eight medals, but it only appears on rare occasions. It's more durable than a normal axe and always creates a rare stump pattern when you cut down a tree.
- Gold axe: Buy 50 tree saplings from the Garden Shop then talk to Leif to be given the gold axe. It never breaks and can cut down trees faster.
- Silver net: Buy it from the second floor of the museum after donating 30 bugs. It's got a wider capture range than a normal net.
- Gold net:Talk to the bug catching tournament host after catching every bug type in the game. It's got an even wider capture range.
- Silver fishing rod: Buy it from the second floor of the museum after donating 30 fish. Fish are more likely to bite with it and will bite for longer.
- Gold fishing rod: Talk to the fishing tournament host after catching every bug type in the game. Fish are even more likely to bite and bite for even longer.
- Silver watering can: Buy 50 flower seeds from the Garden Shop then talk to Leif to be given the silver watering can. It's got a wider watering range than the normal one.
- Gold watering can: Talk to Isabelle after keeping 'perfect town' status for 15 days. It's got an even wider watering range and let's you create gold roses by watering a wilted black rose.
- Silver slingshot: On rare occasions you'll see a balloon floating by with two silver balloons attached. Shoot it down with the slingshot to get the silver one, which fires two shots at once.
- Gold slingshot: After getting the silver one, on rare occasions you'll see a balloon floating by with three gold balloons attached. Shoot it down to get the gold slingshot, which fires three shots at once.
When you first start your day as mayor in the winter, your probably wondering how am I gonna get quick bells? The Snowman can help you there! Build her and she'll ask you to bring her snowflakes (The number of snowflakes needed to give to the Snowman depends on how you build her) Catch the snowflakes and return to her and give them to her, you'll get one of the Ice set that sells for 8,888 bells. You can do it as many times as you want and get big bells! This trick is perfect for those who started their town in winter.

If a villager says either a rumor about themselves or a warning about rumors, it means nobody is moving out.
Start a new character when a villager is moving in. If you don't like it, restart the game. If you do, finish the creation process and then delete the character. This is very abbreviated, if you want to add more, knock yourself out.
Always sell at Re-Tail, never at Nook's. Nook's buys only at 80% of the normal price.

Use big public works projects like the fence/fountain to prevent villagers from moving in areas you might have reserved for another future project or on hybrids (the fence). Also is useful for plot resetting if you place the project the day before to limit some of the space a villager will try and place their plot (in front of the town hall, plaza, Re-Tail, bridges etc)

The day after the campsite is first built, there will always be a villager camping. You can exploit this for much easier camp site resetting, as there will always be a villager in the campsite during each reset!
