Hi! So as we know, as of time of writing, each Switch console is limited to one island. On the other hand, a user account bound to a Nintendo account may be used on multiple consoles.
A couple of weeks ago, I got my hands on a different console and the older one was being sent away, but before that, I salvaged my old game, by remaking my island on the new console, under the same user account (since my digital purchases were there) and used the same character name and island name, and then transferring over everything I could: clothes, furniture, items, and bells.
Today, I got to play with one of my friends, who informed me that my old character was still on his list as a Best Friend. He promptly added me as a Best Friend on my new file, so he now has two of my files on his Best Friend list. Upon removing my old character from his Best Friend list, however, it did not disappear but it just moved to the regular Friends list.
Is there any fix for this? Or are my friends really going to see two of me on their lists? Lol. Is there a way to get rid of the old, unused character that show up in my friend’s lists?

Someone tried to delete their friend from the Switch’s friend list and says that both characters were immediately added back to their AC friend list when they added them back in their Switch friend list, alleging that the data for it must be in the friends’ save files.
