new horizons with good headphones...omg

i recently used my high quality headphones while playing for the first time and holy. crap. it sounds sooo good. i was already impressed by the sound design (except the music lol, different discussion), but i'm even more impressed now. everything sounds so rich, nuanced, super detailed and high def. maybe it's just because i'm a sound/music nerd. anyone else amazed at how it sounds with headphones on?

Yeah tried it when I got my DT 1990 pro's, the sound design is amazing, too bad that the music is like nails on a chalkboard, so I always play with the volume all the way down.

Aw people hating on the music. It's not the best but it's good, especially with headphones. On the tracks with the double bass instead of the electric bass my ears fall in love

I think my favorite sound design thing is all the different footwear on all the different surfaces. I think they're even different when it's raining.

the sound engineering in this game is incredible. It's truly a shame that the background music is bleh (to me at least) that I can't keep the game sound too high.

yeah, i’ll hand it to 7am. that’s a good track. but the majority of the songs now sound like ambient filler whereas the past games’ music had distinct character and melodies

when you hear the sound of snow crunching under ur feet in game itll blow ur mind. it is asmr quality.

I love playing with headphones on. The sound in this game is amazing. The attention to detail really went far above and beyond my expectations. I just wish I enjoyed the music more to fully appreciate it all, but I'm still really impressed overall.

I agree, but in rare cases when multiple sound effects are playing almost at the same time, one of them is cut and it's pretty clear to notice it when you use headphones. But yeah, it's not really that annoying
