The New Horizons 3.0 update is here and we're hosting an eShop gift card giveaway! Each participant will also earn up to 60 forum bells. To participate, visit the event thread in the New Horizons board here. Good luck!
I love that they added Zelda villagers. I didn’t get to invite the original Zelda villagers to New Leaf since I didn’t have the Amiibo’s but so happy for the chance to have Tulin .
By far my favorite new feature is the 4,000 extra storage slots. I'm a hoarder. I can't help it. So it's such a great feeling that I no longer have to worry about being close to storage capacity and having to decide what to get rid of. I was able to put all off the stuff I had laying on the ground into storage and finally achieve a 5 star island.
My favorite feature by far is the DIY Donation Box! I've hoarded a lot of materials over time and had nothing to do with them. Now I have a bunch of opportunities to use them all!
First entry. I'm opting out of the Nintendo eshop gift card raffle!
The newly added hotel which allowed visitors to roam around the island, seeing new faces when I'm outdoors from time to time. I only got one room done so far, but what I really liked is having the option to change up the clothing that visitors can wear. Now they can dress up as Steve from Blue's Clues and try to find some clues!
Entry #2. I mentioned in my first entry I'm a hoarder, and that includes thousands of DIY materials. Well thank goodness for the DIY request box. I knew I was saving them for something good! The 3.0 update is finally rewarding me for my life choices.
My favourite new feature is definitely decorating the hotel rooms. I like that you are given theme options when decorating each room. It's also fun to go back to the decorated rooms later to see the tourists staying in them.
I like the quality of life update, mainly crafting. Building quality makes DIY so muc easier, especially for fish bait or hot items in the shop. It's also great how we can build them straight from our storage instead of our own pocket.
Second entry. Once again stating that I'm not entering the Nintendo eshop gift card raffle!
I was really excited to hear when content related to the Zelda series would get added to the 3.0 update! I scanned in my 8-bit Link amiibo and got Mineru as a result. But I also enjoyed some (not all of them yet!) goodies from other Zelda games in the series such as Link's clothing from Twilight Princess (aka my favourite Zelda game of all time), the Tri Rod from Echoes of Wisdom, the Triforce which played that small jingle from the title opening of A Link to the Past, the Zonai authentication crest from Tears of the Kingdom, and the classic items of the heart container and rupee. I was definitely not disappointed when I had Mineru wear the Tri headband and she looks so adorable!
It blew my mind when I read that Mineru's third eye opens up when she reacts in a certain way. Thanks, S.J.!
2nd Entry: I like how they offically brought back Resetti (in the flesh.) The "Island Reset" feature is helpful when things get messy and you wanna redo the layout. It's also nice to see him back again.
Ironically one of the things I’m loving most about this update is the nostalgia factor of seeing the Tortimer Island crew again. Just look at how much little Leila has grown since her blanket shell shop days in New Leaf!
I sadly don't really have enough time to make a second entry. (Unless I can squeeze one more in!)
Ahem, anyway...
My most favorite thing I love about the update is that we can now place foliage inside our storage. This is one thing that I never thought would ever be possible, but 3.0 proved me wrong!
I've been wanting something like this for a long while, as I hated having to store my foliage somewhere else on the island, or delete them altogether. Total game changer for me.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this mini-event!
It was great to see so many people playing and enjoying the Ver. 3.0. update and Switch 2 Edition of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In total there were 54 participants, with 48 entries in the raffle!
Without further ado, the lucky Nintendo eShop Card raffle winners are...
I hope you all continue to enjoy the update, and keep sharing your hotel room designs! Thank you again to @Jeremy for the prizes, technical setup, and idea to run this! And thank you to all of you for participating!
