New Furniture Customizing

So I know so far that I was able to customize the giant teddy bear with Cyrus, but I haven't really brought anything else there to try yet, I was wondering if the items that came over from HHD will be customizable in the same way they were in HHD?

I'm planning out my house and I know from HHD how some of the items can be different colors and stuff, but just wanted to see if anyone could confirm or deny if they're customizable in the same way.

Not that these needs a bump, but I actually would like to know this too. I just started playing Happy Home Designer and am realizing how much of my laziness in decorating my mayor's house comes simply from lack of easy access to the items. The catalog makes it all so much easier to deal with. ;A; And no refurbishing guide in ACNL is a huge reason why I NEVER do it.

There is a refurbishing guide someone made for all of the furniture before the update but it hasn't been updated since 2015 when she finished all the sets. I have used it a lot to find what stuff looks like in all it's refurbished ways. It's super handy, but so far I haven't found a guide of or even saying that the HHD furniture that we got in the update is refurbish-able in the same fashion.
