New foods/drinks you tried today/recently!

I mean that sounds nasty tbh lol. When I think potato chips I think zesty/salty. Not peppermint/sweet. My sister loves this squash soup that Panera Bread makes, but it's so overly sweet I can't stomach it. It tastes like they straight up dumped cups of sugar in it.

It doesn't taste like peppermint, it tastes more like pani puri, like spearmint with spices, and my brain can't process it. It's not bad... but I don't know if I want to finish the bag. I need to try again.
Not sure if I would call it sweet. I already tasted sweeter potato chips, like honey butter and I liked it. I wanted to try Cinnamon Buns potato chips as well but couldn't find them. Ketchup and Sweet Chili are also more on the sweet side.

I like squash soup but yes it can be really sweet if they add yam in it.

Anchovies. 🐟

I was curious so bought a tin of anchovies in olive oil with garlic and herbs today. Unsure what I think so far. It's a strong flavour.

I've been on a homemade pizza kick lately, so going to try making an anchovy pizza tomorrow to see how it is. Found a tasty sounding recipe using red onion and bell peppers as additional toppings.

Recently tried out a knish for the first time last night. From the frozen isle and baked in the oven. I thought they were splendid but I am worried they'll be one of those foods that sucks leftover, will find out tomorrow I imagine.

Two weeks ago, my dad made Philly cheesesteaks (he made mine without cheese). I honestly didn’t really like them, so I took the meat off and just ate the bread.

Then he made deep dish pizza a week ago (without cheese again for mine). It was better, but a bit much to eat.

The former was because of the Super Bowl, the latter was because of the Daytona 500. My dad is a sports nut.

I tried dubai chocolate for the first time not too long ago, and all I can say is: ew. It was so genuinely awful, I don't understand why people are so hyped about it?

Just recently, I tried asian apples for the first time. Apples are one of my favorite fruits, alongside peaches, pears, watermelons, cantaloupes, and strawberries! As far as the taste goes, it tastes more like a pear than an apple or at least in my opinion...

Today I ate some matcha green tea ice cream mochi. It’s from that brand that has a purple box. I always see it in Walmart and Target. The mochi was pretty good, but I prefer the one with just green tea.

I’ve also recently tried the coca cola and ginger ale flavored sodas from Lollipop, but didn’t like either flavor because they came off as too “creamy.” I think that’s how the sodas are supposed to be.🤷‍♀️

I picked up a roast from the store recently and decided to try out a recipe I've never made before: miso beef noodles. It took 2 days to make; first day I had to braise the beef for 3 hours, and today I cut it up into chunks and cooked it up in the miso marinade from yesterday with veggies and ramen noodles. It was delicious! Next time I think I might add a tad bit more maple syrup to make it slightly sweeter!

If anyone wants the recipe I'm happy to share just ask c:

Nice glad you enjoyed it! It's always fun to experiment with a recipe you've never tried before. That's how I've came about a lot of soups that I really enjoy. One that uses pureed pears, chorizo sausage, and corn and it was so good and a tiny bit spicy 😋

I bookmarked a few more recipes I want to try from last year and when I get time I'm going to make them soon!
