i have a few questions on cycling cause i am starting a cycling town on a new acnl game i got:

Do i have to have my development permit in order to cycle?

To start cycling do i have to wait for a villager to ask me to move and then tt to the move date or do i just tt till a villager is in boxes?

I don't know about the development permit, but you should definitely get it. I had rumours of a villager moving out while I was in process of getting it, but it's definitely better to go ahead and get it. Otherwise, Isabelle reminds you about it every time you load the game up. It gets old quick.

And depending on which type of TTing you're going to do for cycling, you should probably be at the date where a villager is in boxes. If you use the yearly cycling method, to begin it, a villager must be in boxes. I can link you to this method if you haven't read about it yet, and you can ask me any questions if you have any. :)

Yes, that's the method I use! You have to have a villager in boxes before you can begin this method. Once they're in boxes, then you travel 1 year, 5 days back, then 1 year forward, then finally 5 days back. When you're back to the recent day, a new villager will be in boxes, as well as a new villager completely moved in.

ok so how do i get my first villager in boxes? right away cause i would like to start today and also i have ankha and i was going to try and buy her so thats cool so i will give her to myself yay lol

Do you have two 3DSs? Because otherwise you won't be able to give Ankha to yourself. o:

But there's a few ways you can go about this. You could go day by day until someone is in boxes, but that could take forever. You could use the two day forward, two day back method and run around until someone pings you, then TT to their move out date, but who knows if you could mess up and lose a villager.

I recommend you TT forward a month, and start with a new character. If a house is gone, then quit and load up your mayor. Run to the villager whose house was gone and talk to them until they tell you they're moving. If they don't, save and quit, then restart and they should ping you. Then TT to their move out date and you're ready to go!

So i should keep tting 2 days foward and 2 days back until i get a ping? and also house could just disappear with this method?

If you want to do it that way, sure. But with the skip ahead a month method, I forgot to mention that you TT back to the date you were on before talking to them. If you TT forward a month and a house is gone, it means that that villager currently is thinking of moving. That's why when you TT back and talk to them, they should ping.

oh ok so i should first tt 2 forward and 2 back to get my town full and then do the tt month forward thing and back but will there always be a house gone?

Wait, wait. You've got me a bit confused.

You either TT two forward and two back, or TT a month forward and back. This is just to get a ping and get a villager in boxes. Then you do the 1 year, 5 days method to begin cycling.

ik that but in order to have a villager in boxes i need to have a full town correct and i was wondering if i should do the 2 day thing until its full. also i am confused about what i do when i have a villager in boxes after i get someone to take that villager do i tt 1 yr 5 days forward and then back again?

ill brb gtg eat lol

Oh, no, no. To get a villager to move, you need to have 8 or more villagers. After you get someone in boxes, this is what you do:

A villager is in boxes. Save and quit.
TT back 1 year, 5 days. Load up your game, save and quit.
TT forward 1 year. A plot will be in your town, if you want to see who is moving in. Save and quit.
TT forward 5 days. The villager previous will have moved in, and another random villager will be in boxes. Adopt them out, do whatever, then save and quit.

From there on, you continue back to TTing back 1 year, 5 days. Then TT forward 1 year. Then TT back 5 days. New villager, villager in boxes. :)

so when do i give out a villager to someone?

When they're in boxes. You say that they're in boxes and name your price or say you're voiding in X amount of minutes. If you adopt them out, you open your gates and someone comes over and gets the villager to move in. If you void them, you just begin your cycle again.

Do you mean for the last part tt forward 5 days?

Huh. I cycle differently. Because there are different methods. I do

tt 1 year forward
save and quit
tt 1 year forward
save and quit
tt 5 days forward
and boom. A villager is in boxes and you're in business baby.
