New character

I seem to have accumulated a large amount of furniture that isn't reorderable, so I thought I might create a new character - with a new house to display it in! This would also give me storage space for clothes I like (and maybe it allows you to have 2 of the special items you sometimes receive.) However, I have a few questions:

-Is it possible to collect badges with your secondary character, do you?
-The same with Happy Home items?
-What about fishing tourney etc?
-And birthdays?
-Is the mayor character the one still displayed on streetpass etc?

I can see completing everything twice for your secondary character would be very difficult, so I was going to only use them to have the house and display furniture and not bother about any collecting for them - so just play my own character as usual. Also I have no idea where to put this second house >.<

Is there anything else I should know about second characters?

Every character can collect badges.

They can compete in the fishing tourney/bug catching contest, but if you don't do anything with them they won't be a part of it. They can also collect items Isabelle gives out on events, such as picnic basket on labor day.

They also have B-days.

I can't answer your last question.

You can do everything with an alt you do with your mayor -- but you don't have to. I personally don't worry about badges and so on, but I will collect items from events, celebrate their birthdays, and I use them to play and interact with villagers. You don't even need to do that though.

The house you streetpass by default is your mayor's -- but you can actually change that by speaking to Digby. Unless you ask him to display a different house he'll keep streetpassing your mayor, though.

-Is it possible to collect badges with your secondary character, do you? Yes, but I don't really use her for badges. Mostly for storage and to block a possible villager home plot!
-The same with Happy Home items? (Like you can order them? Special items?) Yes, pretty sure! (You can get more bank items ect. as well!)
-What about fishing tourney etc? Yup! All events still happen! You can get multiple holiday items by that too!
-And birthdays? There are still birthdays!
-Is the mayor character the one still displayed on streetpass etc? You can change this by talking to Digby, you can make an alt's home in the plaza or the mayor's c:

I shall make my second character but use my mayor character for almost everything I think - waaay too tempting to try to collect absolutely everything otherwise! Shame that I missed out on getting two stockings

ps - got a treasure chest from the island the other day, woo!
