New amiibo card move in question

Is it possible to get one of the new 50 villagers by someone who has the new amiibo cards? So they could summon them and put them into boxes and let you adopt them? Or is that only a thing for series 1-4?

You can adopt welcome amiibo villagers from others, just like you say they would move them in their town and then kick them out for you to adopt. There's people doing that on the trading plaza now

Yep when they were first released I couldn't wait to get any so I adopted Sylvana, Dobie and Claude from other people
They're sold out again here too, I'm very grateful to the person I adopted Claude from as I've only recently got his card
