So I had an account here before, so I'm not exactly new. However something that I've noticed in the majority of shop/selling/buying posts is that it has shifted from predominately paying with in-game bells to nearly exclusively TBT bells. Anyone know when or why this happened? I'm a little lost :o

Probably because tbt is just so much easier to transfer, and some people find it easier to get a large amount of tbt than Igb. I don't think I've noticed a massive change, although now you've brought it up I'm going to be looking out for it ;)
Although having said that, a lot has changed within a couple of months (not sure when you were last on here). Most villagers are now being sold for far less than 100tbt on cycling threads in the VTP. Not sure if that means that people have got more tbt free for other things now...

I have been on tbt for over 2 years and I know what you mean I think it is as said one easier transfer and 2 many long time players have a large amount of igb and don't need more so want tbt while newer players or new towns would prefer igb and that has changed.

I'm not entirely sure when I was last on, but I wanna say two years ago or so. Back then, it was rare for people to ever ask for TBT from what I remember

Hmm, yeah, I guess that does make sense. I had to start a new ACNL game because I lost my old one, and I had the intention of coming back on here with a ton of IGB in order to get back to where I used to be. Since the last time I was on was quite awhile ago, (around two years ago as well I believe) I had the fear that most people on here would already have near complete catalogs and too many bells to go around, so that reasoning makes a lot of sense

Ah I see, it will have been a massive change for you then. I noticed the difference just from a couple of months back. I think tbt is a lot easier now than it was, like I said about the prices of villagers dropping and the fact you can get so many rare items in the shops on retail for very little tbt. I hardly see Igb being used anymore

i'm not sure when it happened exactly, i think it's been more of a progressive thing over the years. even in the year i've been here, the worth of IGB has dropped more. villagers in the VTP used to go for like 200-400 tbt, and now they go for less than 100. since the game's been out for 3+ years now, the value of IGB has just plummeted, because the majority of us that still play the game have a ton of it and don't need any more. not to mention everyone wants TBT now for all the forum stuff you can get with it (collectibles, art, etc.)

anyways, welcome back! c:
