New 3DS or Ipod?

So I'm torn... I have been saving for a New 3DS for a while now and am excited for release tomorrow, but I have really been wanting a phone and my dad refuses to get one for me, even though I don't really care about data which is the main reason why he won't get it for me. I want something mobile that I can use to text/call, use instagram, play music etc. I would love it if I could save up enough for both, but I feel like that would take a long while. Help or suggestions? Btw I don't have a real job since I'm 14, so I only get around $15-20 a month minimum.

iPods can only do one of those things you mentioned

Well, the iPod can do pretty much anything you need it to; aside from play real big games.

Which is pretty much what the 3DS does exclusively.

So, if you'd really like to play games more than anything, get the 3DS. But, if you want to do anything else more, get the iPod.

I would personally go for an iPod since it doesn't just have games, it also has other apps and tools and stuff. If you already have a 3DS then go for the iPod.

Well, unless you are home (since you said you did not want data plans), having an iPod will not be of use if you want to text, browse the net or play online games.
