Hey guys! I was wondering how much I should negotiate with a guy on craigslist for his new nintendo 3ds. This guy had 4 games with it, Pokemon X and Alpha Sapphire, SSB4, and Pokemon White 2. I don't want any of the games. I would like to buy JUST the new 3ds and trade it for a 2ds for some less money to pay. The price he is asking for is $275, how much could I negotiate for? Sorry if this is confusing. Feel free to ask questions!

I would suggest aiming a price between $70 and $110 for a 2DS, assuming it's in a good enough condition. The maximum price is based on the MSRP of that handheld.
Wait so this is brand new unused, or it's a new 3ds console that's used?
Also why would you trade it for a 2DS. Why wouldn't you just buy a 2DS?
If he's asking 275 for the system with all the games you're saving 60$ compared to gamestop, but again. Why wouldn't you just buy the 2DS? They're 99$ used.
I'm a little confused by your post. Are you saying you want to own both a 2DS and the new 3DS? It looks to me like you want to purchase a new 3DS to buy a 2Ds for a little cheaper, or visa versa? And to that I ask, why not buy a 2DS/new 3DS outright? It will probably be the cheaper option, as they go for ~$110(new) ($78.98 used) on Amazon for 2DS and $199 for new 3DS (new) (176.99 used).
If you're looking to own both, then I think anywhere in the $200-$250 range, depends on how the merchandise looks (a lot of scratches? Probably closer to $200 for both systems, maybe less. Looks like new? Closer to $250, let's be honest this guy shouldn't get his full money back on something he's already used)
Okay I get it now.
Yeah, he won't want a 2DS. I would offer him no more than like 225. Seeing as a used New 3DS is 180. Plus maybe 10$ per game. Personally you should just buy it used from GameStop. If you buy it and it doesn't work you will never see that guy again
I don't understand why you would buy a New 3DS to downgrade to a 2DS. That just doesn't make sense. If you are trying to avoid the 3D features, you can always turn them off. The New 3DS is a much better system compared to the 2DS, especially the processing power. In terms of price, be sure to get everything at MSRP or lower because all of those games and the system are relatively easy to obtain at your local videogame store. Hope this helps!
