so my friends b-day is coming up but we aren't going to be able to see each other until mine when she flies out. i already got her a link plush, raccoon ornament, and a pair of doctor who shoes. but i want to make her something as well as we always make each other gifts, i'm torn between just drawing her something or doing an apron with her name spelled out using her favorite things. her name is pat so i planed on making yoshi the p, the triforce the a, and cactuar the t. it'll be done all by hand so it'll take me a while but i'm hoping to get it done...i just don't know if i should save the apron for an x-mass/random gift or make it the b-day one. as for the art i was going to draw her mayor with her fav villager phoebe.

what one do you think would be best? also any other suggestions are welcome too. =) thanks much.

I'd definitely go with the handmade apron if you have the time to commit to it. While I love art homemade stuff like that is definitely something extra :)

yeah i was kinda thinking that too. especially since i give her and her almost husband art all the time when we send each other letters.

The apron sounds like a really cool and thoughtful gift, but only if you have time for it. If you think it might not be done in time, I'd go for something simpler this time and save the apron for a later holiday. Either way, it sounds like your friend is going to have a really nice birthday. :)

you seem like such a thoughtful friend! i absolutely love the apron idea...but that being said, i think the first 3 things are a lot already so don't feel bad if you don't have the time to make a full on apron! if you don't have the time, then the drawing and the shoes/plush/ornament would make a great gift. I hope she enjoys her birthday, and i think you're gonna make it extra special!

the apron sounds super sweet and thoughtful and i would definitely go with that! regardless of whether it’s done in time as a b-day present or a christmas present, its the thought that counts and i’m sure she’ll be super appreciative of it regardless of when you give it to her c’:

Aww, that's such a thoughtful gift. I really like the apron idea and if you have the time to commit in making it, I'd go for that option, unless, of course, your friend prefers drawings. But I'm sure she'll be happy with either gift, as it shows she has a really caring friend. :)
