Need some tree planting advice!

I've been cutting down all my trees and re planting them to look neater, which has been working fine up to a point.
There's always that one or two that dies out of a group of 9 or so, and i don't know why because all the trees are evenly spaced out from each other.

Should i just keep replanting until it finally grows?

there's some kind of a workaround by planting them some at a time in a certain way, but i dont remember the details. yeah, I'd google for a guide

I think there's a guide for this somewhere.

The game is really weird and only allows you to plant a certain number of trees in an area, basically.

I wish they hadn't done the trees that way, it would make things so much easier. I think i had 12 or something perfect pear trees in one area and 2 died.
