i've been holding a villager for someone on tumblr since tuesday. not because they asked me to hold them, but because they haven't been communicating with me when i've told them the villager is ready. yesterday morning, they said they'd be available at 3 pm. 3 pm comes around, i message them, no response. i messaged them this morning that i'd hold the villager for the rest of the day, but if i don't hear back from them i'm giving them to someone else.

my question is, should i wait until the end of the day to see if they respond at all, or should i just give the villager to someone else? the villager in question is taking up a spot for a dreamie, which someone else told me they would have ready whenever i am, but since i'm getting them for free i dont feel like it's right for me to make them wait so long. it's also hard to keep my town on the same day to make sure the villager i'm giving away doesn't move out....

what's your take on this? :(

Honestly? After all you have done and said, I would give the villager to someone else. They had a chance and didn't take it. There's not a lot you can do with that unfortunately. So long as you were clear in your last message that you're only holding them for the next X amount of hours then go for it.

thanks ~_~ i was kind of already leaning towards giving them away

I've been in that boat and it's not a great place to be so I understand why you're asking :) But you've been really patient so I say go for it and get your dreamie.

yeah it's no fun :( i feel awful bc they were totally pleasant, but the lack of communication is no bueno. thanks for your input!!!

Ahhh, you are so much more patient than me. I would have gone to the next person who wanted the villager after the initial no-show. Obviously real life happens sometimes, but the least they could have done is let you know they weren't going to make it. I really doubt anyone is going to blame you for getting rid of this villager and taking your dreamie in. The other person can always find the same villager from another person, too.

yeah, that's what pushed me to get rid of the villager, the fact that they didn't let me know what was going on at all for 2 days :/ thanks for making me feel less bad about it ^^

If I was in the situation I'd probably hold them longer, just because I'm overly-nice and empathetic, haha. I'd be worried that something serious may have happened and when they came back from whatever trauma that could have been they wouldn't have that dreamie? I am totally making this worse, aren't I? Well, hopefully, since you said they were pleasant before, they'll be understanding. ^-^
