Need SD card Help

SO I am trying to redeem a download code and I only have a 4G SD card. If I upgrade my card will it affect my new leaf game? Not sure if this is the right section or not.

First off, I believe you are in the right section. Second, it shouldn't affect your New Leaf save if you copy over everything from your current SD Card to your new card. I personally did upgrade my 2 GB SD Card that came with my original 3DS to a new 16 GB card and copied everything over and it worked just fine. Just remember to copy everything from what appears in the SD Card as soon as you open it up from your My Computer folder.

Do you play AC:NL on a game catridge or as a downloaded version? The former has the save file stored on the catridge itself

You WILL lose your saved data if its digital. Don't worry though if you do have it digital I can help you since I had upgraded from a 32GB to 128GB with out losing my New Leaf data. It takes sometime to move everything around. I just need to find the links that helped me.
