Need room ideas!

I'm finally making some progress with my second town Starpass. The main theme of Starpass is that it's astronomy themed, so some of the houses will be "dedicated to studying space and space exploration." I've been really excited to make a town like this considering I haven't seen any other towns like this, but I need some room ideas and what furniture to put in them. I'll try to post some pictures of my progress so far.

Here are the things I plan to have some of my characters' houses as:

Hinako's house: The observatory (observing stars, planets, etc.)
-First room: the lobby
-Upper room: the observatory room, with blue furniture and telescopes and computers
-Back room: Hinako's office
-Left room: need ideas
-Right room: need ideas

Ryan's house: The laboratories (testing astronaut suits and ways for space exploration; the more technical stuff/engineering)
-First room: the lobby
-Upper room: testing rovers and astronaut simulations lab
-Back room: Ryan's office
-Left room: the equipment/building/rocketry lab
-Right room: need ideas

Also keep in mind Starpass will be a mostly modern themed town, so hopefully the rooms also fit with that theme. I hope you guys have some cool ideas I could possibly use for this town ^-^

For Ryan, you could do a mission control room with rows of computers, a server, wall mounted monitors, etc.

For Hinako, I was wondering if you could move the rooms around because the second floor would make a really cool sky room. You could use cloud flooring, lunar horizon wallpaper, aurora screens, super stars, balloons, the moon, a UFO, etc. The observatory could be moved to the back and the office could be either the left or right room.

I really like the mission control idea! I'll try to incorporate in somehow.

As for Hinako's house, I do like the sky room idea, but I sort of have a setup in mind, but I'll keep this in mind c:
