Need help

Okay so long story short i lost my best villager and they went to my friends town. i have cycled through 16 villagers so when they come back will it be like a new version of them or will they act like they was never in my town before. Bearing in mind that its the exact villager that moved in the first place, not a new one.

True. Also, you can get your best villager back in your town if your friend has her/him in boxes in their town. You can then go over there when they're in boxes and ask the villager to move back in your town. The villager will move in a day later.

Thats what i'm doing. the day they moved i got my friend to come and take them to their town so i don't see why they will act like they have never been in my town before

That is not true. If it's the exact same villager you lost, they will remember you If you visit your friend's town, your villager will also mention remembering you. There was a user who posted a really cute thread about this once.

If it's just another version of the villager but not the exact one you had, then they won't remember you.

I always thought that if your villager moved to someone else's town that they would remember you, even if you went to visit, and especially if you go to talk to them about moving. Iirc the only way that the villager would cease to remember you is if this person transferred that villager to someone else. The game only saves the memory of the last person who held that villager. I COULD be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is the case.

Oh snaps I didn't know that So if that villager moved to your friends town, then later on is in boxes, then moves back to your town...can that villager still remember you?

When the villager moves back it doesn't remember you. Not sure why.
Two of my villagers moved to Town Lolly. When the mayor visits they talk to her all the time.
I usually mail them a gift after I talk to them.

Oh, I see...Well, at least becoming best friends with the villager is kind of easy, in my opinion.

If the villager is the same villager that moved out of your town, they will remember you.

So, once you cycle through 16 villagers, go to your friends town when that villager is in boxes and they will remember you.

Weirdly enough, this isn't true. My friend had wolfgang, but he moved to my sister's town. And eventually, he moved to my town. And he talks about my friend from time to time. Which was two owners back. It's so weird how the game can remember all of that! It could be because she's added in my 3DS and on my best friends list. But I'm still iffy on it all.

While living in the other person's town they will remember you and when you ask them to move back to your village they will mention how great it is to be neighbors again, but once back in your town the will act like they've never lived there before.

how cool is that lol and now i'm 90% done with this, I've done the cycle and my friend is in the process of getting the villager out so im just praying that she atleast moves back in even if it means she doesn't remember me.

also thanks for the help guys i appreciate it. I'll solve the mystery and say what happens once the villager is back in my town but until then its still open for debate lol

Finally i got the villager back and yes she does remember living in my town thank god haha

I think this is half correct, when i went to get them back she said it would be great to be neighbors again but in my town i think it's like she thinks her original town was the last one she was in, she still remembers me so it's fine

Yeah, if you lose a villager, cycle and get the same villager from your friends town, they will 100% remember you! I've had this happen to me a few times and they always remember me when it's the same villager, not a copy!
