Need help with TT!

I need some help because I haven't played in two weeks and I'm scared to lose one of my villagers if I do something wrong. I already opened a new save file to see if I could play without having to TT and losing any of my villagers, but unfortunately Erik's house was gone. It also looked like he had been gone for a long time, since the dirt patch was gone and there were flowers and weeds where his house used to be. There is a possibility that he was going to move the day after the last time I played.

I know I should TT to the last time I played. The problem is: I can't remember the exact date I stopped playing. The activity log won't help me either (it does weird stuff where it tells me I've played games yesterday that I didn't play yesterday).

Would it be safe for me to TT further back (like a month) so it will be like only one day passed? Or will Erik still move then?

Yes, moving back a month only counts as one day passing. However, if you're saying that he may be moving the day after you stopped, then he could be gone anyway.

if erik has already moved you cannot get him back unless you cycle 16 villagers and then get him to move in again.

you should have time traveled back without starting the file. it doesn't matter if you would have time traveled too far since it still only counts as one day no matter how far back you go.

I guess you misunderstood what I said. I created a new save file. I didn't "save" this file. It's just like when plot resetting. The state of my town then wasn't permanent.

TT back a month if you can't remember the exact date you stopped playing. If Erik is in boxes the very next day, then I'm afraid it was already too late to save him You should write the date on a piece of paper next time to prevent any future accidents <3
