NEED HELP FAST!

So my brother told me to redownload the game to a different SD card to basically have two lives one I could TT on and one to play legit. but after creating the 2nd town I went back to me old one and it says that my save won't work because of another save and it asks me if i want to delet my save! will this delet me old game save? because it was perfect to me! is there some way to fix my old save game? Im not really a tek person so if you know how please tell me I dont won't to restart!

You can only play 1 digital copy per 3DS, I'm pretty sure. You can't just put 1 copy on one SD card and 1 copy on another SD card. It will overwrite your save files, as you've experienced.

The only way to play 2 towns on 1 3DS is to have 1 digital town and 1 physical game cart town.
