national streetpass weekend

I haven't got time to do it right now but I told my friends the bestbuy trick worked and they switched over -- they said it immediately started working. I'll definitely do it tomorrow.

jenikinz - this is easy to do if you can access your router's settings; and it doesn't affect your safety settings in any way. Also legal, you can name your SSID whatever you like. No-one will think you are pretending to be Best Buy. There is a really good guide somewhere in the forums, but basically you just need to change your SSID to bestbuy and then connect to it.

I got 14 hits at home depot of all places...who knew home depot was a nintendo zone! I went to a second best buy that had tons of kids in there and not one hit even though they are supposedly a NZ. Overall I got around 20 hits today, not bad I hope they do this more often!

I went to three different Nintendo Zones today. Only got one new house for my New Leaf showcase thing, though. I did at least finally run into a Mii wearing a white shirt so I could get past the dark room in Find Mii. I've blown all my play coins for days trying to get a wandering hero in white with no luck, but I street-pass'd a couple from California today. Black Mage and White Mage, with properly colored shirts to match. Also got lots of new puzzle pieces.

Wish I had the money to go to more Street Pass locations, but the only ones I know of around here are the 20 different McDonalds and Starbucks locations, and I wouldn't feel right going inside and not buying stuff.

I went to Mcdonalds for breakfast this morning specifically to get streetpasses before work.
All I got was an undercooked egg mcmuffin >.>;

Managed to get 7 Streetpasses this morning at McD's. Got 2 new countries and 4 new states. I think it's a pretty cool idea, didn't get any houses in my HHS though. /:

I saw home depot had been added to the list!! I was dubious but if it worked for you I will have to start stopping in. Our Best Buys don't work at all; neither do our McDonalds. One starbucks I've tried worked, so far that was it.

Changed my SSID to Bestbuy this morning and immediately got 6 streetpasses + the spotpass mii. Not sure if I'll get more but hoping so, especially as I only got one mii with ACNL and I want that badge.....

Isn't streetpass weekend international? 3 of the miis I just got were EU.

I live in Belize and according to Nintendo's website the nearest Nintendo Zone is in some tourist destination...

I live in Florida and its actually pretty hot out, cant believe its snowing everywhere else xD
But on topic, havent gotten a chance to visit a zone, will try tomorrow.
They should make this a daily event or something like that.

All the Nintendo Zones in my area suck. I changed my router to 'Bestbuy' several times over the weekend. I was able to get 6 streetpasses 4 different times, plus the 2 special spotpass mii's that Nintendo sent out (Hi WayneBrady). So I got a total of 26 new Miis in my plaza. I only got one that last played ACNL, but I don't think I got a HHA Showcase house from them, too bad. I wish Nintendo would do this every month or so. I have only streetpassed 5 people the normal way and I've had my 3ds for a year and a half.
