Yeah, they don't work anymore. There is a free demo on the E-shop, though, but it only has thirty uses.

Unless you want the unlimited uses demo, then yeah, that would equire the code.

As others have said, the unlimited play ones have all expired now. there is a free demo on the e-shop now, but I think it only allows 30 plays?
