My Villagers will not mention rumors today?

My question is not answered in that guide. I have searched this forum and I cannot find an answer.

I have been talking to all of my villagers for hours until they have clouds over their head, and still when I go back to them and talk some more I get another thought cloud. They will not mention rumors of any type.

They talk about Pete the mailman, they give me gifts, they make small talk. But no rumors.

A new villager plotted his house today, so there is a house plot in my town. Is the house plot possibly why I am not getting any rumors? I don’t believe this has ever happened to me before.

Thank you, but still, if no one is moving out, we should get those rumors that I referenced. (The thread I mentioned has them in the first post.)

If there is a house plot, I get villagers telling me about how they’re excited to have a new move-in in town and I treat that as the rumour of the day.

Mine have not spoken about the house plot. I was surprised, but no one has spoken about the house plot, and no one spoke about any rumors which would indicate no one is moving (the specific rumors indicating no one js moving that are covered in the above guide that I linked to in the first post).

I thought that somewhere, there was a guide of time periods where villagers would not move. This may have included when there was a house plot. But I cannot find that guide or mention of it anywhere.
