I've stayed on a path forever it seems. But I want to restore my town and get rid of the dirt paths I made. I heard that time traveling a month will restore it, but...

-Does time traveling by the 3ds clock make a difference? Will the game recognize I time traveled if I use the system clock?
-Can I jump forward to the next month, or do I have to log in day by day?
-Will TTing screw up the growth of the town tree?
-Will it mess up Gracie visits? I have T.I.Y. now.
-If I talk to every villager I want to keep before I TT, will they stay?
I found this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wK-uiBpWdlw, and there was no mention of having to go it day by day. So, am I good to go?

Do NOT TT ahead a whole month if there are villagers you don't want to lose- one of them WILL leave. Wait until someone you want to move asks to leave, then do it. Jumping forward is what I do. It doesn't mess up the town tree, but I'm not sure about Gracie.

Traveling by the 3ds clock is still recognized as time traveling.
Not sure if jumping a month will restore your grass or not.
TT day by day didn't screw up the growth of my town tree.
No, it shouldn't. If you miss her she should be back until you finish all four fashion checks.

All kinds of TT will put you at risk in losing villagers. Some people say they time traveled 2-40 years and not a thing changed. Some say so and so moved out the day they played again. Some lost a villager traveling a week. Some don't. It's always a gamble and no set direction.

I have only eight villagers, and I want ONE to go. But I heard that villages with under eight villagers are in the entering period and not the exiting period.

you can tt then. no one will leave ify ou only have 8, though one's plot may appear.

Right, entering not exiting, but a month is still rough.. :/
You could just plant flowers, go day by day ahead without stepping on them until you notice the grass grow back. Planting bushes also helps regrowth.

Good news, it worked! Except Static did move in and I forgot to use the villager trick. Well, if I just introduce myself, and ignore him, he'll leave in a week, right?

On a new character it will.

i'm glad to hear this worked out for you!! i was thinking of trying the same thing soon

I TT'd around my third or fourth Gracie visit and it's been two weekends and I haven't seen her back. Also, how would I be able to TT forward and backward (to restore grass) and still keep all my villagers? I figure going two days forward, checking, then going two days backward and checking should work, right?
