I get the deal. Do favors for your neighbors, give them stuff, don't stand them up when they want to come over, etc. I get it. They'll eventually be kind enough to give you a picture of themselves as a gift for all your hard work.

Yet, I can never get a villager's stinkin' picture. For the past three times, a villager would move and then mail me their picture after they left. They weren't even the villager I cared about. The ones I do care about though- despite the fact it's been over four months- still refuse to give me their picture. Four months.

In fact, I turned down this said villager since I didn't want their lamp. Now they only bow to me instead of sing when I call them with the microphone. Seriously? That's how loyal you are to me.

I'm even getting ghosted. I sent some letters. I never got any replies. I have no idea why, so don't ask. I really don't know!

These are animals programmed into a simple RPG game. This post was 80% satire. But still. My brother just started playing the game about a week ago and his friends are already waving to him. What am I doing wrong? lol

Can anyone relate at all?

This is a funny story. The only picture from my villagers that I got from was Bangle’s but I had to stop her from moving about 50 BAJILLION TIMES! I finally let her go now but since she was one of my favorites and I HATE making peppy villagers sad, I bought a lot of things from her, and sold a lot of stuff to her, but that’s not advice! Talk to them a lot and send them a lot of letters. If they are trying to move, stop them! You might want to try stopping them fifty bajillion times, just saying if you want a better chance, especially if they are your starting villager. I don’t know if this is true but if there are still any starting villagers you still care about that haven’t moved out yet, I think it’s best to try them. Thanks if you actually read all of this! Sorry for any unwanted info!

In my new, current town I'm no where close to getting the villager pictures. Though I remember in my previous town, it took longer than 4 months.

Either we're both doing something wrong or it's just how it is. At least you have April Fool's to look forward to? :P

True, lol. I completely forgot about April Fools. That'll be nice.

That's why I just waited for April Fool's Day to come over (or time traveled to said day, ahem) to collect villager pictures. I remember how much I did to keep the friendship stable with each villager in hope to get some pictures of them, by the end of the day, all the effort was often for nothing, almost nobody gave me a picture and if I actually got a pic, then from a villager I didn't liked so much.

I think the best way is just to be nice to the villagers as often as possible to keep the chances of getting a pic high. It can take some time and sometimes it either goes pretty quick or slow, depends how kind your villagers are to you.

I don't know because I just let things run naturally. It can be a long while for you to reach a maxed out friendship with your villagers. I just do favours for them and before I knew it, I get pictures from them.

How do you do that? 'Let things run naturally...'? I'm such a control freak when it comes to playing NL that I often ruin the experience for myself, lol. I suppose that's an off-topic question, though. :)

I guess I'll just wait for April Fool's Day.

I would say that my mindset for this game is pretty different from others. I just go at a relaxing pace and not go full power completionist trying to blaze things through. And if things happen along the way, it happens. It's like life. I'm glad you asked that question!

Bruh moment lol ya I’ve had some infuriating interactions with villagers like this and it boils my blood and then I’m like wow lmao I’m getting worked up over a game. XD
