I hate point & shoots, get a DSLR now plox D:

But I gots no munnies!
It's kinda hard to bring DSLR s hiking.

That's why you get a camera strap and/or case.

EDIT: Btw, the waterfall picture is horrible. Looks like it's been frozen :/

I played around with the shutter speed, and anything longer made it way too blurry.

but i think it only looks blurry like that because its only a 5mp.
you should get higher mp =]

Actually, the water is very iron-rich. This is right up by the iron range in northern Minnesota, and there are tons of iron deposits.
And yeah, I need a better camera.

Editing your photos is apart of photography now. You should pick up Photoshop Elements 3.0 or 5.0.

I don't like tweaking my pictures much, it feels like I cheated.

I think general photoshop is better for photo editing than elements. Though it could just be because I'm used to the normal one.

I don't know that I would want a career in photo editing.
I have artistic vision, so I can imagine and conceptualize art, but when it comes time to execute my plan, it falls apart. That's why I'm good at photography, I can tell when stuff looks good, but I don't have to be bogged down by making it.

All the pictures in your third post are awesome, especially the one with the light coming through the forest. That one's my favorite. =D

Maybe you can experiment with GIMP to make some of your photos Sepia or black and white? Kind of like dark-room photography.
