My Mom Thinks I'm Insane

Aweee :( That sucks. My parents are really supportive of my brother and I's addiction to video game things. They know that E3/directs are like the super bowl for us! The know what amiibos are, video game characters, the stories their in, etc. My dad is actually the one who got me into video games at the age of 4 when he bought us a Super Nintendo. c: He doesn't play now, but he was the one who threw the gasoline on the fire. xD He would buy me new games/systems like when they launched. I had no idea of them at the time, though. Like I wasn't up to date on what was going to be released, but he was and would always make sure I had it. It was awesome! I don't know if any of you have ever played Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, but he actually bought those for me because he thought they looked cool, I remember not being too impressed with the demo they had at Target of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, but he bought them anyways and omg. They are still some of my top favorite games of all time. Wow, I really rambled on here. Anyways, it just makes my heart sad when parents don't support their kids who play video games. Video games are so amazing and a lot of people thing they are lame or you are wasting time/money on them. A lot of them are like reading books, but you get to act out the dialog. Plus not to mention the community of people who enjoy the games! The ACNL community is my favorite. It's the sweetest of them all~ :)

All ya'll mothers are my mother lmao. I'm asking for four amiibos for my birthday/christmas and she thinks I'm crazy, but I'm gonna get them one way or another TT

Long essay post alert

I'm actually surprised how few people have gamer parents! My dad's always been a huge gamer, and was who got me into games in the first place! I guess I'm just really used to it! :P

Well we must have old fashioned parents. I mean investing into this isn't a good thing either even though it makes us happy.

Ugh, I feel for all of you who have to feel the parental sting of being told you're buying toys. For my mum anything animated is for children (I get told off for watching the simpsons and such like family guy pff), the model horse I bought to put on my shelf as an ornament is a "toy" but strangely enough.. when I said about the new amiibo cards she bought me 3 packs. So uh.. guess my point is.. don't give up on your parents understanding your gaming aha. No one's ever too old to play games anyway, no matter what form grr.

I'm a 23 year old guy with a room full of toys ;; I have plushies all over my bed, not even just game ones! My poor boyfriend is currently competing for space with a huge shark...I also have a shelf full of Monster Highs, anime figures, disney posters etc. Anyone would think my room was a kids room, to be honest :P

My mom plays puzzle league with me on animal crossing, and she plays my mario kart every now and then. So I think she knows why i play them. Also my dad got me into gaming with LoZ and command and conquer. When i asked my parents for amiibo they thought it was good that I wanted to start collecting something!

The nice thing about being an adult is I can spend 400+ dollars to collect all four series of amiibo cards and my mom doesn't say a word

Also tell your mom these cards are important

My parents dont understand acnl but they will buy us acnl items if we want them... i guess i have a pretty supportive family lol

It kinda is tho, but you have to buy them to get certain benefits, its a micro transaction pretty much.

tbf im a bit of a collector and already bought the amiibo for shelf viewing purposes so actually the added features just gave my figures more functionality than the rest of em so really its all pros for me++ does suck for people who dont already collect tho to have to buy stuff they wouldnt have
