I've been playing the game very slowly because university work has been unreal right now, so I finally got to the campsite stage. Before this, my starting villagers were Reneigh, who was the one new villager I really wanted to get out of all the ACNH ones, and Iggly, who is one of the few jocks I actually like. I'd have loved to have gotten Genji, but when I discovered they won't have their actual interior if they're your starter, I was actually quite happy not to get him. They were both on a list I made before I started playing of the villagers I would like to have as well. It had my dreamies - still looking for you Stitches, Erik and Dobie!- and about 60 other villagers I would enjoy having on my island, at least for a bit. Not a very broad selection considering how many there are in the game. But how lucky that both of my starters were on there!

Then came the three plot stage. I prepared by buying about 25 Nook Mile Tickets, but worried if it would be enough. I shouldn't have worried. Altogether, I went to just 4 islands in total. The only villager I didn't invite was Hornsby, and honestly, out of all of the bad options, I wouldn't have hated him. He's marginally cute. I like his name. Sorry, Hornsby, but I had many tickets left.

The very first villager I found was Melba, who was my top choice for a normal-type. Then I found Audie, who I'm probably not going to keep because I like some other peppies better and honestly, her house is just very very blue😅 She is really fun to have around for a while though, and was even on my list. I went to my next island, where I had the slightly unfortunate encounter with Hornsby. This did make me think, so I got my list out and planned to try to fly until I found Stitches or Erik. Although I also kind of wanted to wait so they could have their original interior. So I looked who was on top of my list then in terms of lazies: it was Punchy. And who did I meet on the first Deserted Island I flew too then? Yes, indeed, Punchy! He's adorable. I'm not even mad that he doesn't have his own interior, because he gleefully told me the peach chair that I made him "fits my butt... perfectly." Oh, Punchy😂🍑💗

Then came the campsite. Here, I knew two things. One: I had to take the first villager the game threw at me. Two: While I had been so lucky with almost all of the villagers the game decided for me, I knew this was too good to continue. I knew my luck would turn at some point. I knew this much good fortune, this much happiness, this much pure joy could never last.

I was right.

Inside... was Rodney.

Awe, Rodney is adorable!!! I would have been so happy if I had gotten him as my forced villager. Instead, I got Huck. But he didn't last long on my island... :devilish:

My first camper was Hans. Think of it this way...someone has to be the first voted off the island.

Oh no, I knew exactly where this was going. If it's of any consolation, it seems like villagers are a lot more eager to move in New Horizons than in previous games, so hopefully you won't be stuck with him for too long. Chadder (my 5th villager) was the first to move, and if I recall correctly, he moved out before I even put my tenth plot down.

i s2g rodney is both my good luck charm and my curse

he was my forced villager! I get him every time I island hop!
I've also chained from Rodney into a bunch of popular (like t1-t2 villagers) and raymond.

so I don't know how I feel about him right now/

Oh, man. Some people just have all the luck. I had to desperately ask people around and try my luck to get Punchy. Even did the campsite method and haven't found him until someone was kind enough to move him in via amiibo for me (oh, bless that person).

Ouch, I only got lucky with villagers after my first 6, since my forced move in was Huck. It took me a while to kick them all out, but now I have villagers I love!

wow!!!! thats a lot of luck, and i kind of went the same way as you!!!! bam is my favorite and i worked a year straight to find him in NL but he was just my starter in NH and i couldnt believe my luck! .....but...colton is my forced campsite villager ...and i Cannot get Him to think of moving i think im cursed to a life of this smug horse

Aw, I'm sorry! I'm glad someone likes him at least. I really hate his color scheme and general look, and am not very keen on the hamsters anyway. I think I would enjoy Huck a little bit better, him being a frog and all. But he wouldn't live on my island very long either I think.

Oh, that's nice, I didn't know that. Now just crossing my fingers that it isn't Melba or Reneigh who decides to move...

Haha, I actually really like Colton. Smug horses just fit very well in my opinion😜 But I hope he tries to gallop off for greener pastures soon

I think it all balances out like all RNG generally does. My first few villagers were pretty good! Now when I go villager hunting, usually it takes forever for someone good to show up...
