my firewood DIY disappeared??? has this happened to anyone else?

I feel like I'm losing my mind honestly. I remember obtaining the firewood DIY and creating it at the very beginning of the game when you were constructing the first three houses and whatnot.... however it's no longer in my recipe book. nor is it anywhere in my catalog! even though I had foolishly sold the one I created when I was re-doing everything like a week ago so I KNOW that I had it.

has anyone else had this happen to them, where a DIY that you know you had just disappeared??? or maybe my memory is just REALLY screwing up right now. I swear I did have it though. I remember making it because I put it outside of the campsite when I built it. I have no idea why this would happen and I'm just so baffled lol. I went to make a new one for my kitchen and lo and behold, it was nowhere to be found. is this a shared experience with anyone else?

YES you are not crazy, this is a confirmed glitch! I've seen other threads talk about this on here, I'm sure if you searched for it you'd find it.

edit: If you manage to get another DIY card of this missing recipe, theoretically you should be able to relearn it (this is what happened to me). However I remember reading a post saying that they could not learn the recipe again because the game claimed they already knew it despite it not being in their phone.

YES you are not crazy, this is a confirmed glitch! I've seen other threads talk about this on here, I'm sure if you searched for it you'd find it.

edit: If you manage to get another DIY card of this missing recipe, theoretically you should be able to relearn it (this is what happened to me). omg. wow I really felt like maybe this was a silly, isolated little incident I had no idea it was a confirmed glitch!!!! I am both relieved and also still frustrated to know this actually happened. that really sucks!!! agh I hope that I can relearn it, I guess theres only one way to find out lmao! It gives me hope knowing that you could at least. hopefully they repair this soon, because I've acquired a lot of rare ones recently and I would hate for it to happen to any of them.

I have had this happen to me too! I have had it with cataloguing furniture/clothes as well. I also have an extra firewood DIY the you can have if you wanted it.

ahhh that's good at least! best case scenario. losing one of the wreaths or seasonal recipes would suck. now I'm gonna be paranoid and keeping an eye on them lol! maybe I'll mass produce everything I know how to make just to be safe.

also yeah I know right!!! I wish I would've kept the one I already had made. what's strange is that it disappeared from my catalog too -- and all other things I've created that I know the DIY for are in it! so its really weird.

i don’t think I’ve ever lost DIYs before but I have lost entire cataloging sessions despite a non-eventful return home

Yep, I have lost DIYs that I KNOW I had. I made it my goal to craft every DIY I get, then I have my second character store them. It is really frustrating, especially when you get the same DIYs over and over again

Sad thing is that being unaware of this glitch I wouldn't have a clue if it happened to me. It would be pretty annoying though, to spend time finding a diy and have it dissappear
