First of all, why don't you put a buyout? Buy outing isn't unfair at all. Sure, someone might be upset that you buy outed. But that's auctioning. You get it, bid, and hope someone doesn't bid higher than you. Buyouts help auctions get through quicker/for a bit of an extra fee. And when people don't put buyouts, it just irks me. People might want to secure the fact that they will get the item when the auction ends if they won't be online.
Second, if you already promise to accept an offer, and then just throw it all down the drain because someone offered a higher price. For example,
Starting bid: 100k
Minunum increase: 50k
Buyout: 1.6 million
Person 1: Buyout please!
Auctioneer: ok, my town or yours
Person 2: 1.7 million!
Auctioneer: sorry person 1 I have to go with person 2's offer
Really?!??!??! They buy outed. They should get the item. Things over the buyout shouldn't even count. You said it yourself, you want 1.6 million for insta buyout. You shouldn't accept if it goes over that buyout.
Another problem: CHANGING. THE. BUYOUT.
You already said yourself you want the item for 1.6 mil. Someone comes along, goes BUYOUT! And you change the buyout to 50 million. WHAT THE FUDGE?!!?!!?
This is just my list of pet peeves...
