First of all, why don't you put a buyout? Buy outing isn't unfair at all. Sure, someone might be upset that you buy outed. But that's auctioning. You get it, bid, and hope someone doesn't bid higher than you. Buyouts help auctions get through quicker/for a bit of an extra fee. And when people don't put buyouts, it just irks me. People might want to secure the fact that they will get the item when the auction ends if they won't be online.

Second, if you already promise to accept an offer, and then just throw it all down the drain because someone offered a higher price. For example,
Starting bid: 100k
Minunum increase: 50k
Buyout: 1.6 million

Person 1: Buyout please!
Auctioneer: ok, my town or yours
Person 2: 1.7 million!
Auctioneer: sorry person 1 I have to go with person 2's offer

Really?!??!??! They buy outed. They should get the item. Things over the buyout shouldn't even count. You said it yourself, you want 1.6 million for insta buyout. You shouldn't accept if it goes over that buyout.
Another problem: CHANGING. THE. BUYOUT.
You already said yourself you want the item for 1.6 mil. Someone comes along, goes BUYOUT! And you change the buyout to 50 million. WHAT THE FUDGE?!!?!!?

This is just my list of pet peeves...

Ugh yeah it's really annoying when people do that e-e I think that happened a few times today..

I think it's okay if they don't do a buyout though, sometimes its really hard to determine one and if you put it really high people get really sassy over it lol

also I have a pet peeve in the museum when people just demand art and don't even bother to check if slots are open and when they don't even see that someone said they aren't doing requests at that time =_=

Yeah you have the same exact pet peeves as me. ESPECIALLY the no buyout one. I've actually had that happen to me today though. I was on this thread for more than 2 hours straight with no buyout, and then 20 minutes before the auction ends, someone comes along and KNOWS I have been sitting on that thread for hours and outbids me like 3+ times. Oh well anyways.

Luckily so many people wanted a buyout in an auction he put one. I type really fast so I typed buyout quicker than the other person.

"buy outed" - do you mean "bought out"? :P
Anyway, I like knowing the buyout as well... It just makes the auction more realistic for me because I'd like to know if I can afford buying out a villager before I start bidding.
I also think that once the seller agrees on an offer (or the buyout has been reached), it is very low to accept anything else. Also, people attempting to bribe the seller and bullying the bidder who won with their "better" offers are very annoying.

I'm not even sure I understand how not having a buyout is a problem. It allows for more fluctuations in pricing to determine if net value has increased throughout the board or not more reliably than having a buyout ever would.

It sucks on the buyer's part, sure. But it seems like it's the seller's prerogative to set the auction type as best fits the circumstances.

I know. It's ridiculous. But if they decide to go ahead and be greedy, so be it, don't buy from them, and move on. That's just what I'd do, at least.
