So, It still goes on but the screen does not work. They both stay black.
I really wonder what it is and how to fix it. Does anyone have experience with this?

I once let me ds lose battery and it wouldn’t turn on. I kept charging it and charging it and it tooook forever until I was able to get it back on again. Possibly a whole day which was horrible. I haven’t had a problem again since then nor did I let it die on my again. I really thought it was broken though and already looking at options online to replace.
If it is still under warranty, definitely contact Nintendo about it because it is very likely you will just get a brand new (or refurbished) system instead which is always nice! Knowing that the screens don't turn on, but the rest of the system does, it probably is a issue with the ribbon cable(s) connected to the motherboard of the system which provide the power & image information to the screens. The cable itself either went bad, got loose, or there is something wrong with the motherboard itself.
