Music in New Horizons or New Leaf?

I actually prefer New Leaf music over New Horizons'. I don't dislike NH's soundtrack, there are actually some music tracks I really enjoy such as the resident services' theme, but I think New Leaf hourly music for one was more variegated compared to New Horizons'. I get that the purpose of NH hourly music is to convey the feeling of living on a deserted island but honestly I would prefer it if it were more differentiated. Maybe it will grow on me after a while, who knows.

I hate NH's 5pm SO MUCH.

Wild World's music was my fave, then New Leaf. So far NH's music just doesn't feel like animal crossing music and I hardly notice it's even playing. 200 hours in and I still can't remember any of it (except that dreaded 5pm tune) when I'm not playing but I can immediately recall tunes from WW and NL even though I haven't played WW since I was a kid.

I loved the music in all previous games, in New Horizons I'd rathere there was no music than the trash we got, the music puts me in a bad mood and it's so infuriating, endless loop of music all day that sounds the same UGH, my ears are bleeding.

Went back and listened to New Leaf’s just to make sure there wasn’t just rose tinted glasses going on, then compared to New Horizons, and I have to say I prefer New Leaf’s music still. Haven’t really found a favorite in New Horizons outside of maybe 5PM, but I’m also stuck overnights and haven’t changed the time on my system so I can play during the day.

I prefer the new leaf music. I feel like the new leaf was more calm and the new horizons sometimes stress me a bit especially the afternoon one.

Ya new leaf soundtracks were so much easier to listen to. Although I like the slight change in the new horizons hourly music when it’s raining.. it’s more ’new leafy’

I really dislike NH's musics. They're much less relaxing than WW or NL in my opinion. Also as mentioned before, I feel like there's not much change between the hours. Maybe it's only because I haven't played as much NH as NL yet, but they feel less iconic to me. I'll give it some time though but we're off a pretty bad start :')

For me, WW > NL > NH

NH music is pleasant but it doesn’t seem that special to me or give me the same feelings

Is... wild world an option 🥺
If its between NL and NH I'll go witthhhh... NL. NH feels very repetitive and while I like the slow transition throughout the day it just.. eh. They could of done better with it.
The 5am in NH is really pretty though!!!

I'm okay with both buuut NL's music is too relaxing for me, for some reason it makes me sleepy and sad, while NH's music is more energetic which is good for the "island vacation" setting. I honestly can't imagine sad piano music playing all day long on a deserted island

NL by lightyears. WW's is my favourite, but NL is good too. I'm getting sick of the NH music already.

WW>NL=GC>NH

I don't want to offend anyone if it's their favourite tune, but...
the 1PM, 2PM, 11PM and 3AM songs drive me INSANE. The bass is plucked so aggressively, and the synth is so loud that it makes me cringe so I just don't play at these times.

I like playing between 3PM and 8PM though.

I like both. Actually, I can't really remember much of NL's music since it's been a while since I played it. But I remember liking it.

In defense of NH's soundtrack, I like the variations on the theme. The sameness is intentional and I think it's interesting how many variations they came up with for what is essentially the same music.

I love 5am's music and wish I were up more often to hear it.

Sometimes I do wish I could tone it down. A prime example of this would be if there are villagers singing in the square and you have a CD player playing what they are singing along to just out of hearing range. And sometimes you'd rather just hear the ambient noise of the island.

As big as NH is about customizing and making the island your own, you should have greater control over what plays on the island as well as volume.

Another vote for Wild World! NH's is pretty funky though they've got a lot of interesting sounds that feels less traditionally musical; maybe it'll grow on me.
