I know, first user who started the game has "full rights" for island and becoming "island representative".
However, I'm considering to add more users (for a single + same player). One of the reasons is having more houses. I know, it's achievable and I saw some dreams when players had three "players". But I have some questions, mainly focused on main player.
Let's assume, my first player has name SuperUser, and other players will be:
User2
User3
...
UserX (where X=maximum number of additional players could play on same console, same island as different profiles).
Maybe I'm wrong, but I read somewhere, the limit is 8 profiles (including main player?).

Questions:

1. I create new profile, starting game as "User2" and achieving stage where I have a house instead of tent. As a SuperUser will I be able (playing own profile) to have an access to storage of any other profiles or not?

2. When new profile is created, regardless of how many other profiles are, I want to know what happens with this / those characters. Are they wandering on the island or maybe they are not visible to any other profiles?

3. Will I be able as any profile to send / receive any deliveries from store? For example: SuperUser wants 8 items from store (delivered immediately). Will I be able, to switching profiles to send as each one profile those what I want? (I know, switching profiles would be time consuming, but I'm just thinking about possibilities).

4. Resources. As we have six stones per island, and if SuperUser will hit all stones in one day, what happens if another user wants to do the same? Will it be available, or not?

5. Sharing goods. I assume, if any item(s) will be dropped (not placed) any other profile can pick it up. Am I right?

1. You should only have access to your storage only & not any of the other profiles UNLESS you're logged/playing on that profile. The only time you can switch without saving & exiting is if you're playing multi player on the same console & you're switching who's in charge for that session

2. Nope! They aren't visible! The only time anyone else should be able to see all of your characters wandering around is on your dream.

3. My brain is pulling a blank on this one. I'm sure I know it but I have to re-read it like a 100 times sorry. :'(

4. Nope. First come, first serve basically.

5. Of course! They can pick it up as long as it's not in anyone else's house! It can only be outside.

@707 thanks for your answers.

1. I assumed, as main "owner" of the island I may have more privileges, but it's fine. Anyway, if more profiles and if houses are upgraded storage will multiply, maybe not easy way, but giving opportunity to store more goods instead of selling them.

3. We can send postcards with gift / presents attached or we can buy something from (cash point) nook online services. We can buy (actually: order with next day delivery) for ourselves and we can buy it something for another player.
My question was about another player, meaning another profile.

1. The main "owner" doesn't have more perks than any other user on the island, they're just another player. But you can switch between profiles in local co-op to drop and exchange items and use the other profile's houses as storage if they don't belong to anyone, unless that person is okay with it.

3. So each player has a daily limit on how much they can order from the nookstop/app (5 items). So you could play on one profile, order 5 items, switch to another profile and do the same and just exchange the items when they arrive. I might be wrong in saying this, but I'm pretty sure you can't add any other users that share your island to your friends list. This means you won't be able to buy something for them from the nookstop/app. If you have a friend on another island nice enough, you could send the items to them and they mail it back to you once they arrive since it would be the same day.

3 is sorta not true. you can send things to other characters as a new option “residents” will pop up when you have more than one profile. but the limit still stands. I’m pretty sure all residents combined can only buy 5 per day but each character can still send 2 items to friends. (someone can correct me if I’m wrong!)

also you don’t share a catalog with other characters, each one needs to catalog items on their own

I apologise, I haven't played since May, so I'm a bit behind on info. Sorry

You can send all 5 items you order from the catalog to another resident. It's not restricted to 2. All 5 can even go to the same resident.

If my brain weren't frazzled then I'd answer all of these but I cannot answer questions from a list...

We have 4 residents on one island, so I can try to answer the stone question (question #4) and question #5:

4: each profile has a money rock, and one other profile can hit the money rock of another profile for resources.
Each profile has a glowing spot for money hole.
Each profile can interact with NPC, good way to get Celeste/Gulliver/gullivarr diys, items, and can commission multiple fish/bug pieces.

5: sharing resources: everything left outside of houses are shared, but the holes will disappear when switching accounts.
Post automatically merged:

Oh, only the main owner can invite villager from mystery island, build/demolish bridges or inclines. Maybe relocating villager/buildings too (not sure on this because our other acccounts only relocate their own houses once).

Also, each profile has a message bottle everyday.

I think most of this has been covered... but for 5, you can share items that are dropped! ...And items that are placed. Like, my island is very decorated, and every one of my side characters can pick those items up and move them around to their hearts content.

Which is convenient for me! ...But makes me feel bad for people who actually do share an island and have, say, mischievous siblings or something 😅

Because the account is not password protected (or can they?), everyone can do anything to other accounts.

I mean, yes, they can technically play as the other characters, too. But I mean, even playing as their own characters, they can do a lot to the island that way. Frankly, the things they can and can't do seem utterly arbitrary. I love this game, but I feel like Nintendo really dropped the ball on multiple players on one system.

I can confirm that this is NOT the case as my dad’s character (Not the island rep-that belongs to me) has invited multiple islanders to our shared island.
I was wondering about that! I've never invited a villager with one of my side characters, but I was pretty sure I read somewhere I could if I wanted to.

Interesting! I am not island representative and never met any villager on mysterious islands, only my kid’s main account did!
I just have to ask if your kid is the one who primarily goes villager hunting (when a spot is empty)? My parents never were able to see villagers on mystery islands before I branched onto my main island because I always villager hunted for them (they didn’t mind all that much).

i can also confirm that the secondary characters can invite villagers from mystery islands. I went island hopping for my husband’s island over the weekend, using the character I set up on his island - not the resident rep.

Yeah, the kids love villager hunting. But I remember at the early stage of the game, I went to mysterious islands, only could farm resources, and when the kids played, there was this little camp fire on an island, and a villager wandering around. I never got that experience!
I will try next time when there is vacancy on our island.

Yea I love villager hunting myself:it’s one of the only things that can get me up early with me actually excited for it 😂
