Moving villagers out for new villagers?

So my town is currently full, and I asked an amiibo villager thing to move in, and they said the town is full, but if I wanted I could ask someone to move out. If I choose yes, do I get to ask the villager of my choice? Or do they just randomly choose? I really wouldn't want one of my favorite neighbors to go.

wow i didn't know about this feature it doesn't say anything about it on the direct though so i don't really know :/ i imagine you get to choose though

i saw somebody post a screenshot of the amiibo villager they wanted to move in. yes they will let you pick who gets to move out

Wow! That's an awesome feature! Now people can finally get rid of a hated villager more easily.
