Hey there, I heard people mentioning being able to chose where a villager places their plot the other day, how would I go about this? I've worked very hard on my paths so this would be very useful :3

You can't directly choose where they plot, but if you load up the game with a new character (without loading it with an existing character that day), you can check where a villager has plotted without having the game save. If you like the spot, then just go through the registration process until the game is saved (and then delete the new character if you wish). If you don't like the spot, simply turn the game off without saving and then try again with another new character.

You can also prevent them from plotting in certain spots by using PWPs.

Its called plot resetting. On the day a villager is supposed to move in you choose create new file instead of continue from the home menu. Go through the motions of making the new character and get to town, then go around the town and check for a construction spot roped off. Is it in a spot you like? Or not so much? If you don't like the spot just hit the home button and close the game then load it up again and make another new file. Keep doing this til you get the house plot in a place you want/like. Once its in a good spot you go to town hall and finalize the new character (talk to Isabelle, pick a house spot, get your tpc and then you can save and quit. Once you've saved and quit you can delete the new character and load your mayor and play the day as you normally would and the house plot is stuck in the spot it was in when you left it with your new character.

This ONLY works if you do not play a previously saved character. The game saves the day as it is loading your character so anything in town is the way it will be for the day after Isabelle gets you set up to play. Until a previous character is loaded its a free for all, the game will set it up different every time (or nearly different, sometimes they show up almost exactly the same a few times in a row, but its still random chance that it happens) UNTIL it gets saved, then it is stuck that way.

Hope that made sense. Happy plot resetting!

(ps, it gets boring. Like really boring. Especially when they just refuse to move where you want them to. But it can be so so worth it if you stick to it.)

Ok:

There are 2 ways to go about this.

1: You have Asked a villager to move from another town and their designed to come.

Or 2:
Random move in.

Now, for 1:
The villager who you have asked to move will move. You canmake a second cgaracter and search for the plot. Don't like it's place? Then hit power and repeat the secon character thing again until the villager is in your favourite spot JUST MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE LABEL.

2:
A random move in. Just reset until you get your favourite villager or at least a good one in a good spot. It's random villager so check the sigh and see if it's your dreamie! Get lucky!

Hope it helped.
You can search it up on YouTube even or check our trusty helper Google so you can check for a better reference!

Good luck and I hoped this helped!

I've read that villagers sometimes lean towards moving into the same areas as the last villager who moved out (taking their place, in a way).

But as Seth Lios mentioned, Plot-Resetting (the process first described) and using PWPs are most helpful. :)

Thanks for the help! unfortunately I think I'm out of luck, I've reserved all my extra character slots and Ive put a lot of work into all of them :C ah well, I've placed PWPs in all the worst spots so hopefully they dont wreck everything too badly XD
