Hi everyone, I was wondering if it is now safe to move out a villager with an amiibo, then have someone adopt the villager being kicked out? I know it used to be dangerous, but I heard it was patched out. I’d like to get a villager from my sister who isn’t fond of time traveling, and this seems like the easiest way to do it.
Thank you! :)

apparently people are still getting glitches happen from it but i saw someone post on this website saying it might be patched at the end of this month but i'm not sure if it's true or not

Thank you, I hope someone knows for sure, but if I have to wait a month I don’t mind too much. I just don’t want to wait who knows how long for her to randomly move out!

The Amiibo-specific glitch was patched out, but it seems like the patch itself introduced a different glitch that affects all villagers because it has to do with the void mechanic. Here's a doc with more details. Not everything on the doc is accurate as it's a bit out-of-date (for example, I think the theory of clearing the void using in-game time isn't definite), and the glitch itself seems to have some currently unpredictable elements, but that's the gist of it.
