Most recurring things in your dreams?

What are the most recurring things you've seen in your dreams over and over again? I'll start!

- I'm seen smoking in my dreams, despite never having smoked in my life.

- I'm either going on a deadly mission or I'm assigning people to a deadly mission. At least one or more of my teammates would end up dying in a mission in some of my dreams.

- Most of my friends are either fictional characters or irl celebrities/political figures (or both). I don't have that much friends irl.

- Chances are if John F. Kennedy appears in one of my dreams, 9 times out of 10, there's going to be some kind of reference to his assassination.

- Everytime Queen Elizabeth appears in my dreams, Goku's Ultra Instinct theme plays in the background.

- I wear a lot of dark colored clothes in my dreams, with black being the most recurring color.

- I'm almost never called by my first name, even by close friends and family members. I'm usually referred to as Ms./Mrs. (last name) or whatever my job title is, depending on the dream.

- I get falsely accused of being some kind of bigot (racist, sexist, homophobic, etc...) and people would try to "cancel" me on social media.

Now, I graduated high school almost 11 years ago…BUT I still dream about school buses. Either I miss the bus, or all the buses are lined up outside school. In the second case, I take too long doing something in school, (ether it’s the locker or talking to someone) and miss the bus. I get stuck inside the school, and I have to call home.

Another dream is, I’m starting school and keep checking my schedule. I don’t know where all my classrooms are. I attend some classes, but others I skip. I debate attending these, because I might stand out, but sometimes I do. The teachers either don’t notice or make a snarky comment. I’m confused about the subjects since I kept skipping class, and am at risk of failing.

No idea why I have these dreams. They don’t happen all the time, but enough to where I notice a pattern.

Two actually.

I occasionally dream that I'm still in Homeschool, and it's mostly during my teenage years when I dream about it. I seriously don't know why I have many dreams about me still being Homeschooled, but every time I do, I like to think it's because my teenage youth is calling me and I should return to the fun memories I had from when I was a teen.

Another is that I dream of a fanmade Spyro level that is the exact same every time I dream about it. Now you may think that the reason I dream of it might be due to not having a single Spyro title since Reignited Trilogy back in 2018, which is 7 years too many without a proper sequel. My mind might be telling me that it's time for a new one to come out eventually and it's getting impatient for it perhaps?

I frequently dream of houses. Sometimes it's a house from my childhood where I spent a lot of time, either mine or another family member's. But most of the time, I'm completely unfamiliar with the houses in my dreams. They're huge, sprawling buildings with mazes of hallways and rooms that don't make any sense. I recently dreamt of a house that was located in the center of a warehouse store. It had no exterior walls, so it was completely open to shoppers passing by except for a few private interior rooms like the bathroom and bedroom. It wasn't even my house. Someone else was living there, but I was touring it and just made myself comfortable for no reason.

The other frequently recurring dream I have involves my ex. He was manipulative, controlling, and we always fought. In my dreams, I've left my husband and I'm back with my ex, but it's instant regret. Even though he promised he'd changed, he's always still exactly the same and I'm left feeling alone and miserable wishing I could be with my husband again. I think that dream comes from my brain trying to remind me regularly to appreciate what I have and never let myself get back into a situation like I had with my ex.

Idk why but I’ve read that teeth falling out is a common recurring dream. I’ve only had it once, and it freaked me out! Not sure if it means anything though.

Some dreams I have on a recurring basis are...

• All my teeth falling out (I hate it )
• I'm back in middle or high school and have no idea what's going on and there's a test I didn't study for
• I'm back in elementary school and I missed the bus back home because I took too long packing my bag - now I have to figure out how to get home
• My two pet frogs (who died several years ago) having babies and suddenly there are 10+ frogs in the tank - sometimes there are hermit crabs too because I had hermit crabs at one point

I don’t remember most of my dreams, but one reoccurring dream I have is about my last job. I haven’t worked there in over 2 years, but just last night for example, I had another dream about being called in by my old manager.
In these dreams it’s almost always acknowledged that I do not and have not worked there for a long time - but my past manager contacts me and begs me to come in to help out lmao. Logically it doesn’t make sense because I live on the opposite side of the country now, but for some reason I always agree to come fill in. Don’t know how I get there but I do.

In my dream last night, I started out by trying to figure out how to clock in since I couldn’t remember my employee id number lol. I also couldn’t access employee only areas because I didn’t know the codes for the doors.

It was retail btw. lots of trauma from that job so maybe that’s why it haunts my dreams LMAO

I keep having dreams about being back in school, though it often doesn't look like my school.
I also have a lot of dreams about shopping at thrift stores? Usually I wake up disappointed I don't actually have whatever plushies were in the dream.
I have a lot of nightmares about fires...

-Even though I haven't been in school in a while, I keep dreaming I'm still in High School or I'm back in it. Possibly because I'm unhappy with how things turned out since graduating.
-Recurring dreams might be evidence I don't take well, because I lost my dog who I've had for 15 1/2 years summer 2022 and I still dream she is with us or that she is back with us somehow. Sometimes I even dream she never died to begin with and we buried her back up from her grave which is getting unsettling at this point.
-I also keep grieving about my sister who decided to leave and never speak to to the family again, including me even though I had nothing to do with what happened. I lot of it is her coming back home because I feel like she will eventually because she's done it before but I don't know if I should feel happy or angry at her about it.

I guess it's basically all my worries and anxiety creeping in my dreams. I hate it. I wish I could have a nice dream for once.

Ever since I was a kid I get dreams about The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask even when I haven’t played the game in months. I’m either in Termina or the three day cycle clock from the game appears on the bottom of my vision and the moon is falling.

teeth dreams are the worst... it always starts off with extreme pain when i try to close my mouth or bite down so i can't. sometimes it's like biting down on a loose tooth except all of them are loose and my jaw is locked in place. those are the ones i remember most often and i hate them the most.

i also get frequent dreams about being a student but it gets weirder when my actual students (as a teacher irl) are my classmates and i get all caught up in the drama. in other frequent school dreams/nightmares, my classes are chaotic and my voice doesn't work so i can't even talk or yell or anything

also, dreaming that i woke up from my dream but not being able to get up or dreaming that i woke up extremely late for something (like waking up at night when the event was in the morning)

Lol I can relate to the recurrent school dreams. In my school related dreams, I'm either going to school with various famous celebrities and politicians or I'm teaching them.

There are many reoccurring themes in my dreams, but I think the most normal ones that happen often are the, "oh no! I had something due for school and I forgot and have nothing to turn in!" nightmares.

I have not been in school for over a decade, lol. Seems like it's going to be a fear for life.

For some reason, I have recurring thoughts of wanting to take up martial arts again. I got a black belt in one of them and quit.

in my dreams i'm able to fly poorly or float slowly. i'm really bad at it, i often get caught by something chasing me.

also dreaming that i have a university class that i've been missing for the entire semester or missing the final (which did happen to me in real life) despite not being in school for many years.

I dream about theme parks and carnivals all the time.

Sometimes I have random dreams about driving.

I frequently had dreams about school shootings (probably a trauma response) but they don't happen much anymore thankfully.

- More often than not, I dream about school in some way, like recreations of past high school experiences. I really wish I didn't, though. :\ I also dream about work sometimes, which is kinda crappy but not as bad as my school dreams.

- There's usually something dark and mature featured in my dreams, like someone getting ruthlessly murdered... Not surprising, but it still scares me a little when I wake up.

- I also used to have frequent nightmares about the end of the world, a nuclear fallout, or being in a post-apocalyptic world. Thankfully, I don't get these dreams much now.

That being said, I'm surprised that a number of users here have mentioned having reoccuring dreams about going to school. I'm kinda glad I'm not the only one.

• airplanes/airports - I love flying so I tend to dream about it a lot, usually there’s something weird about the plane though, they tend to drive on the roads a lot lol. sometimes they’re too big, sometimes too small, once they were just a pair of flying seats.
• finding new rooms in my family’s house - these are always pretty cool and fascinating.
• my Granny’s house - I used to dream about going to her house a lot more, but since it’s been sold I mostly just have a dream now and then about it being sold and usually it’s very different even though my memory of it is very strong.
• other relatives’ houses - I miss my aunt and uncle’s house, so I sometimes I dream about them selling it too, sometimes I dream about my Grandma’s (my other grandmother’s) house and even sometimes my Grandma comes back to life.
• School - I have sooooo many school dreams. I haven’t dreamt as much about high school since graduating from it, but for some reason I dream about elementary school and the building and room layouts are bizarrely accurate. I’m usually an adult going to elementary school and it’s really awkward. Most of my school dreams usually having me forgetting to attend or procrastinating in Math, English, or PE. I’ve had a lot of college dreams about trying to leave the building when class is over but the hallways are extremely crowded and I’m trying to catch a bus but always miss it because of the crowds, distance, and crazy goings-on.
• Tornadoes - It’s probably been months since I’ve had one of these, but I’ve had a ton of them and they’re always so scary. Oftentimes there’s multiple and it seems I rarely ever have a good place to shelter.

For me it's usually one of two... castrophic disasters (meteors, massive tidal waves, floods etc... ) and I am trying to survive along side dozens of strangers. The other is a feeling of closeness with people that always ends with me losing those people, like in a crowd or a house and they simply can't be found no matter hard I look.
