Before the mods delete this because I know it's been talked about before, I would love to start this discussion up again, now that some time has passed, with the hope of getting real concrete examples from some of you.
I kicked out a villager, couldn't find who I wanted in time via NMT, and now freakin' Olaf moved in. Now I didn't even know this before, but I heard somewhere that dataminers found that your most recent villager will never ask to move, that you can only give them the boot via Amiibo or the campsite. I spent a couple days looking for every single shred of evidence I could find, and read through some threads on here too, but they were all from April, nothing very recent, and nobody really backed up what they were saying.
I was certain some of my Villagers had asked to move before, but when I started to draw out a Moving Cycle Map for my island I realized I had kicked out two at least via the campsite which interrupted the flow, and that the last one was able to ask because I had actually dropped an older resident in Kapp'n's boat right before that.
I heard stories of some people saying this is false, and that the chances are simply very slim, without giving thought out examples though. Others say you can reset the cycle by saying "No" when the moving bubble appears, and then the next time to most recent villager will be included. How much of this is true? How many of you are absolutely certain of your claims?
I would love to hear some detailed stories if any of you is willing to give me some of your time. The longer and more detailed your story the better.
I really need Olaf gone, but don't want to wait 3 months before he MIGHT ask, I need to know if I might have to either kick someone else out, or pray to the campsite gods?
