Before the mods delete this because I know it's been talked about before, I would love to start this discussion up again, now that some time has passed, with the hope of getting real concrete examples from some of you.

I kicked out a villager, couldn't find who I wanted in time via NMT, and now freakin' Olaf moved in. Now I didn't even know this before, but I heard somewhere that dataminers found that your most recent villager will never ask to move, that you can only give them the boot via Amiibo or the campsite. I spent a couple days looking for every single shred of evidence I could find, and read through some threads on here too, but they were all from April, nothing very recent, and nobody really backed up what they were saying.

I was certain some of my Villagers had asked to move before, but when I started to draw out a Moving Cycle Map for my island I realized I had kicked out two at least via the campsite which interrupted the flow, and that the last one was able to ask because I had actually dropped an older resident in Kapp'n's boat right before that.

I heard stories of some people saying this is false, and that the chances are simply very slim, without giving thought out examples though. Others say you can reset the cycle by saying "No" when the moving bubble appears, and then the next time to most recent villager will be included. How much of this is true? How many of you are absolutely certain of your claims?

I would love to hear some detailed stories if any of you is willing to give me some of your time. The longer and more detailed your story the better.

I really need Olaf gone, but don't want to wait 3 months before he MIGHT ask, I need to know if I might have to either kick someone else out, or pray to the campsite gods?

When Raymond moved in recently, he asked to move TWICE.

Then after I moved Lucky in, he asked to move.

On my island it seems to be only the last villager I move in asks to leave.

I've had Daisy for almost half a year and she never asks. :)

Awesome, thanks for that! That gives me a little bit of hope. I really don't want to move out anyone else, I love all my villagers, I just need Olaf gone and he was the last to move in. Some stories have gotten me kinda spooked!

I had Olaf as my forced smug villager.

I used Shep's amiibo to move him out, then replaced Shep with another amiibo, then TT'd two in game years to get Raymond.

That's why I was pissed that he pinged to move the same week as he moved in. :)

Even if it does happen, it’s still going to be up to RNG whether he pings to move or not. It could either be quick or months depending on your luck. If you really want him out then your best bet is to just kick him out with a camper.

I've had my most recent villagers ask to move out before - I specifically remember both Genji (who I found via the campsite) and Rory (who I got from a trade on Nookazon and replaced Genji) asked to move out within a week of moving in. But that was before it was supposedly patched out so I'm not sure if its relevant anymore

I recently did a bit of time travelling to get Phoebe out and, at the time, Lily was my most recent move in. It took a loooong while to get the thought bubble onto Phoebe but Lily never had it once. From other posts in this thread it does seem definitely possible though, just rarer I guess?

When I try to move out villagers it’s usually the same 3-4 villagers who ask to leave. I don’t know if this helps but when I request the villager I want to leave and 1-2 villagers who repeatedly asked to go, it often led to different villagers asking to leave. I don’t know if it’s just coincidence but I had the same villagers asking to leave for hours which was so annoying 😞

yes, that's why I wanted to revive this conversation, I heard a lot of people talk about the patch but not bring it up anymore. Thanks for your story. I think for now I'll wait to see if Olaf asks to leave, or until I get who I want from my campsite. I really don't want ti kick anyone else out.

I can totally imagine, haha! I can do some Amiibo gambling, but rather avoid it because they would still be teh last to move in, bringing me back to my original problem. I think I'll try and be patient for a while, hope it goes to Olay, or that I get lucky with the campsite.

idk I think that they can't. I've timetravelled forward 30 days and ignore him. Every villager in my island asked to moved but the recently one.

You kinda answered your own question here in my experience. Once you move a villager in, they will not be the first to ping you about moving...but when a different villager pings you to move, and you say 'No', the recent move-in will then have the potential to ping you to leave the next time.

That's not what happened with me.
Several times the last villager to move in was the next to ask to leave.
In fact, it's happened about ten times.

I’ve moved in all my neighbors through Amiibo, but in both ACNL and ACNH I notice that the newest neighbor in has asked me to move first. I think it started to rotate slowly to other neighbors, but I haven’t kept track. This seems to be a common problem with AC games, lol.

Queenie, who was my last to move in before Cyd came along, asked exactly once within the 2+ months (no time traveling) of her moving in and when she finally did, it was because I had spent over a week ignoring everyone's "thinking" bubble.

Coincidentally or not so coincidentally, Cyd had already moved in and so she was no longer the last one.

Meanwhile, other villagers asked to move, including the ones I have maxed friendship with, and one of them asked twice.

If you want that recently moved in villager to get out of your island pronto, just kick him or her out by inviting another villager from Amiibo to move in. I did this with Audie. I invited her over from my island hopping adventure and then kicked her out after three days.

But then I would have the same problem with the Amiibo villager, I'd still be stuck with someone, just someone different.

I didn't really answer my own question, they were just suppositions I wanted to start a discussion over to either confirm or deny them. Once Olaf asks to leave, THEN I would have answered my own question. You now for example say I can say 'No' and then the newest one who moved in will be considered, but what I want to know is if you have proof of this, or any experience you can actually remember?

I don't TT myself, and often think that when you TT it might affect things slightly differently, it's a factor I feel that should be taken into account.

Early on in the game Dizzy was the last villager that I moved in using Amiibo. I remember it took him a long time to ask to move out, which is why I thought the “last villager to move in won’t move out” thing was still applicable in this game. But he did eventually ask to move out as the last villager, it just took some time(it was around 2 months) . But then when I switched up my line up and invited Ken through amiibo, making him the last to move in, he asked me to move out like a week later. I’ve also kept note that one of my starters, Ursala, has only ever asked to move out once since launch lol. Not sure if this kind of move out behavior is coded in but I’d say it’s just bad RNG.

But then I would have the same problem with the Amiibo villager, I'd still be stuck with someone, just someone different.

My bad. I forgot about that part. For my case, I will certainly invite a dream villager as replacement instead. It doesn't feel bad now as compared to your situation before. (I am fully aware though that you're doing island hopping to look for another villager.)

The only concern now is getting another villager to move out so that you can start doing your island hopping session again. That one takes time unless you time travel.

on the topic of villagers moving out, can anyone help me kick out coco or lucy, i don't have the option of TT

I am afraid you will need a lot of luck on that. There's one way that I know. I read somewhere that you can transfer the "thought bubble" to another villager that you want to move. However, it will exclude the villager who just recently moved in which is the main concern of thread starter.
