can anyone help me,

ive just started MH3 today and im already stuck :S,im on my first quest after killing those fish things with the mushrooms,and i cant get out of the village or find the locations of the special mushrooms

i can go out the village when im not on a quest,but i cant go out doing the first quest....

Once you pick a quest do you do out from the dock?
