Are money trees a thing in this game? I thought I read somewhere that you can grow them.. Has anyone grown money trees? How do you do it? Is the amount of gold worth it? I might wanna incorporate a money tree farm in my town hehe

I think it?s a bit of a gamble to plant money trees as means of profit but they definitely look cool/decorative purposes. You basically plant 30k or more (using your golden shovel) and you have a chance of growing a money tree (iirc the more money you plant the higher probability to grow money but you can still earn less than say if you planted a 90k bell bag because it?s kinda luck based). The highest amount you can get from a money tree is 90k (30k bags each), whether you plant 30k or 90k. You can also only plant one money tree a day. But yeah I haven?t planted one in a while so my memory is kinda fuzzy.

bell trees still exist, though the reward from them is really not worth the risk

They're still a thing, but like others said, they aren't really worth it in this game if you want to make money. I still think they can look good as decoration though. Just make sure to never shake the tree.

Yeah as far as making money goes it is luck based and sometimes you won?t get the best return. Sometimes you do get a lot, but I always found the best money maker was island bugs where I could easily get 300k+ a night. They do look really cool, though, but I could never stop myself from shaking them off hehe

I agree, getting at least the night island bugs/certain sharks can give you a fortune for each night you go, sometimes I'm quite lazy to even go to the island at times, since it takes time to gather all the resources you need. But, I'm always scared about bell trees, because once I shake the trees, it won't grow back :<

I've got a couple bell trees in my town! They're pretty rare and not worth it to make a profit, I have some near my town square for novelty. I had to bury bags of 99k a couple times in the same spot to get one to grow though.

I was actually successful in growing a bell tree twice! Buried 99k bags and two of them grew. I knew it was risky but it was something I really wanted to try at some stage, you know, all part of fulfilling the animal crossing experience lol. They never grow back so I would keep them on the trees for decoration if you do ever manage to grow some. Then again be wary of visitors who may steal them off the trees because you won't get them back. I would give it a shot for the fun of it. I can donate some bell bags if you don't have the bells to spare!
