I was reviewing the rule, and sorry, I couldnt find it...

Basically what happened in one of my auctions is, a bunch of people were bidding it up, one person came and outbid the others by a lot. So everyone backed off.

After everyone left the thread, the high bidder came back and then edited the bid to an amount that is a lot lower. A lot lower. :(

I feel like others would have kept bidding, but she basically stopped the momentum, and then when no one is interested anymore because they think the high bid is so high, she came back and lowered the bid.

Seems unfair somewhere. And now she is the high bidder with only a little bid of time left in the auction.

this is about me, I thought that the green collectible was worth more than what i originally thought until I checked with lassy's guide and realized it's not worth that much. I see people retracting their bids all the time and there wasn't ever a problem? I changed my bid 6-7 hours before your end time, i thought that was plenty of time for others to bid. If you want, I'm okay with changing my bid back to my original amount. It's just that I'm basically going to resell it for a higher amount in the future and I thought if I lowered my bid , someone who actually wants it could get it at an affordable price.

Thanks for explaining your intentions to me, that makes me feel a lot better.

I agree that changing your bid or even retracting it, before an auction ends, is fair game.

But what I have seen in other sites where auction is allowed, editing your prior post is not allowed. Rather, a new post must be made either retracting or changing the bid. I guess that rule is in place precisely for this kind of situation. That way, people know that there has been some change to the high bid.

I will reopen auction and note current high bid.
