Haven't seen an MMORPG thread, so why not start one? ^ ^ (Please tell me if there's an existing thread though)
I recently started TERA and Aion Online, but before that I played Aura Kingdom and a little bit of WoW (although I didn't get very far at all).

So yeah guys, discuss! ^ v ^

Ohhh no, I'm gonna ramble--

I got super burnt out on MMOs recently but my partner and I are the types to ALWAYS have one going. He just DL'd Secret World last night and is going to give it a try before I pick it up and play alongside him. Funny thing is, people always expect that I'm gonna be the stereotypical ~healer girlfriend~ but he's literally always the healer while I tank or DPS. I refuse to heal. It's stressful for me and it's also not a stereotype I'm comfortable fulfilling.

Before that... Rift. I still, to this day, love Rift and it will always have a special place in my heart even though I never log in anymore. Trion's staff lost touch with their community when the Storm Legion expansion was being worked on and released. Storm Legion itself... honestly, it wasn't great. It was incomplete when they pushed it out and my particular class dev (I mained a warrior) was terrible at testing specs so everyone who mained a warrior either had to do some weird gimmicky spec just to get by, or sit on the sidelines and wait. I did the latter until said dev was replaced, but by then I had already lost a lot of interest in the game due to being unable to play effectively. Also, guild drama, ew.

But I keep getting all these emails about the latest expansion that takes everybody to the Plane of Water and I'm SO PUMPED because of the lore and just, ughhhhh it'd be such a huge download but it's so hard for me to resist it... even though I know none of my friends play it anymore and it'd just be me wandering around on my lonesome... I still want to see it! That, and the warrior dev put in a healing thing that warriors can do which I'm SUPER curious about.

Ultimately Rift ruined me for other MMOs. No other class system will ever compare. It's difficult for me to explain - easier to just go to their website and look at it, but still something you have to actually play with to fully wrap your head around - but all the other MMOs make me feel like I'm so stifled and limited in my class choice now. Trion probably did that on purpose to keep us coming back :P And hey, it's working on me, so they got THAT right at least. Goddd how I love that class system. You get to play exactly how you want to, and unless you're raiding with a serious guild, nobody's breathing down your neck about whether it's perfect or not - it's all about making it work for YOU personally. Love love love it.

Apart from that there's Elder Scrolls Online, which I'm excited to jump back into once it's free to play again. But that's something I played largely on my own as well. Let's see what else... played Ragnarok Online for an embarrassing amount of time, and waiting for Tree Of Savior (RO's spiritual successor) to be released in English which is equally embarrassing. I played Tera briefly but found the UI customization severely lacking, to the point where I couldn't keep playing it (I use my TV as a monitor so I NEED to be able to change stuff around without blocking up my screen - text size especially).

I've played damn near every f2p mmo out there for at least a little while but still, I'm a Rift gal at heart and I'm gonna give Secret World a try. What I REALLY want to poke my head into though is Destiny. That looks like some good stuff right there.

I play AQW now and then if they do good releases and stuff... I did play Runescape before though even if it sucked lol.

I play Vindictus, Dragon Nest, TERA Online, Guild Wars 2, Final Fantasy 14 and Phantasy Star Online 2. :)

Man Dude, I've played so many MMORPG's I'm kind of Burnt out XD these are some from the top of my head
In my time i played
Guild wars 2, Archeage, DOMO, FLYFF, Eden Eternal, AION, Fantasia, Dragonquest/Dragonica, I still kind of play mabinogi.
Played a bit of TERA, Vindi, Dragons Nest
Today I cant really find a good free mmorpg, thats not pay to win/pay to play =/ I also like i said a bit brunt out on mmorpgs so I get bored easily now, The whoel level up/quest then farming items got to me I guess after a while.

Oh god, Flyff! I forgot about that. I spent a good year or two playing that thing with a couple of offline buds, had a guild where we took care of newbies and gave them gear and stuff... think our server started with a G or something... /shrug. It was a looong time ago and I tried to go back to it for nostalgia's sake, only to discover how boring it was. I don't know how it ever held my interest. lol

I missed out on the chance to try Aion and I'm kinda sad about it honestly; the concept art was pretty. That's another Trion title, if I'm not mistaken...? Anyway, I remember looking into Dragon's Nest too, but all the servers were full so I never managed to get ingame, despite having it downloaded and all. Same story with Silkroad.

Oh! I remember Rohan - initially I was like "What? Is this LOTR related?" and no, it wasn't, but I still kind of have a soft spot for that game because even though I didn't play it for long, the clothing designs were pretty and the environments I did manage to explore were pretty inspired, as I recall. Don't remember what drove me away from it.

I play Tera, I just recently got connected to a couple of members from here in the game, I play with Pocky and TaliZorah. (:

I want PSO2 ;w; Damn you Sega. Well I'm probably importing it somehow when I got munnies

I play the Japanese version but I patch the English version. If you want, I can help you do that. :)
It's not hard, just a few steps to it. It's a great game, I wish it was released in NA.

I also played AION for a while and it's a really magical and a nice game. Loved the assassin class (for 2 swords style like Kirito or the fact that you can invade the enemy's territory without being noticed; when the enemy is questing, you suddenly appear behind him and attack :D) but unfortunately I kinda had to stop because most of the quests I had were too much for me alone and I had no friends there, so... and it's a pvp game and I don't like pvp very much. But other than that, the music is superb and it has a wonderful atmosphere and landscapes etc. The abonnement thing is a big handicap for free players, though, because lots of basic actions are restricted to the people who have the abonnement. Paying for extra items, okay. Paying for basic interactions - no :c

I still play (currently very rarely) Dragon's Prophet and for my circumstances, reaching level 91 of max 102 is an amazing job. Normally I always play alone and can't reach anything high, but in DP, I made a good friend already at level 10 and found an amazing guild. For the first time, I really had fun playing with other players in a MMORPG and even spend hours only of chatting instead of playing. Now, we are splitted up, but I still like DP and even though I'm stingy, I spent money on it for extra items like skins or special dragons. I don't regret it, the game is really fun and what I like about it too, is that you're able to reach a lot alone. Well, maybe it depends on your class and your skills/equipment sometimes. It's also not pay to win imo, because most of the cash items are available ingame, just that it will consume more time to get them and the stuff that is restricted to cash are mostly deco items, like designer dragons or skins. The game also doesn't focus on pvp but more likely on exploring everything and breeding&training your dragons which I like as well. Game engine and graphics definitely not as good as AION but it's okay. It can be played more fluently and fair instead.

My first MMORPG was Florensia which I stopped playing years ago since it was kinda abandoned. It was nice back then but after reaching level ~50 it became extremly boring.

Sadly, my computer can't handle the top notch MMOs :c But I did get addicted to Dragon Saga for awhile... And Maplestory briefly. I really wanna try TERA and Blade and Soul...

[Edit] OH and Runescape was my thing in middle school.

I used to play on Fiesta Online, I still go on it at time to time but after having my gear forcefully taken back from me, well, I don't go leveling up anymore.

I've always been interested by MMOs, but always end up getting bored of the ones I try very early on due to either repetitive gameplay or just boring mechanics - there are a few exceptions (Basically just Spiral Knights and RIFT) but other than that, I find MMOs really difficult to get into - half the time, the majority of a game's content is locked behind a HUGE grind-wall.. and as I find grinding really boring.. yeah. I end up quitting by Level 15. (Spiral Knights and RIFT being exceptions, of course - Spiral Knights having the main gameplay actually there right from the start, and being a nonstandard MMO - and RIFT giving you LOADS of options right from the get-go, at about Lv 20 I had about 15 spells I could juggle at will, keeping things interesting)

Tera. Tera. And more Tera. Lol I'm hooked to this game. I met my new boyfriend there and he's been playing 2 years now, probably hands down best berserker on the server. We play all the time and go through the new patch together, it's a lot of fun with him. He carries me hard, lol.
