Do you like to mix up the furniture in your homes? Or do you tend to get full sets of one type of furniture? Personally, I really like the sloppy and kiddy furniture mixed together. I customize the kiddy furniture to the pastel colour way and I find they go really well together!
It depends on what set it is. In my house I have a couple rooms that are just Classic, Mermaid, and Princess. In my main room I have a mix of the Alpine setm refurbished with the dark brown wood and some Modern Wood furniture.
In one of my character's houses, I've been mixing customized white ranch furniture and original regal. So far they match remarkably well! The room is going to be a kitchen/dining area.
I do it all the time! I think some sets really mix well together, like Regal and Princess for example. I usually have at least one full set with a few pieces of another set, but sometimes I end up with two different full sets in one room.
I mix and match a couple of sets at a time. There's only one room currently that has just one theme, which is my upstairs room. It's fully furnished in the Pave series.
My main room is furnished with a mixture of recolored ranch furniture (to white), recolored/patterned green furniture (the dark green with the default horn pattern is amazing), with blue flooring/ornate wallpaper. I have most of the lucky cats, and 4 plants lining the bottom wall...and a couple of the astrology items.

Right now, I'm focusing on getting points, so my furniture is matched, but once I get all the HHA stuff out of the way, I plan to mix series, sets, and individual pieces. I want to make my house reflect my taste, which would probably make Creepy Lyle faint.
