Mitten crab help?

Ive been trying to catch a mitten crab with no luck. My game is set in Spetember.. I know they are a small shadow, in the river. I just cant catch one! Can anyone help?

I caught my first mitten crab last night, then about 3 more... just keep fishing!

Is the game set to today's date? Because I think this particular day is when they start to come out

I'm pretty sure they only appear after the 15. Their time frame is 4pm to 9am, I think.
