Missing a personality on the island

Are there any downsides to this?

I gave Cherry away two days ago because of her default house. The only uchis I like are Mira, Cherry, and Pashmina, and I had Mira in NL so I'm trying not to duplicate towns. I like my villagers right now, so I'd be hard pressed to pick someone to kick, even though each of my three duplicate personalities have the same hobbies too, ugh. I know there aren't that many uchis so I might see Pashmina sooner or later in the campsite (already saw Mira), so I'm trying to decide now if someone goes. :|

I think the only downside is not getting the specific DIYs from the uchi personality!

the downsides are:

- less varied dialogue, you'll miss out on some villager to villager conversations too
- reactions are tied to personality, so if you don't have every uchi reaction yet, you never will
- some diy recipes are tied to personality

I'm going to be missing a jock soon, as soon as I learn Dom's final reaction (flourish, which I really want lol). other than that honestly it's not a big deal. it depends on whether you like the dialogue for that personality or not, and I can definitely say I'm not a fan of jock dialogue at all. I'd say go for who you want rather than focussing too much on personality!

Agreed. Personally the points you listed are enough for me to get over whatever grievance I may have with a personality. I need them all!

But it’s your island, don’t stress over it. If you want 5 normals get 5 normals!

I'm in the same boat as you because I need a jock for a reaction and crafting however I don't like the jock personality and there is very few jocks I even like

I actually ended up with a second jock last night, which surprised me as well. Their personalities are really loud, so I wonder how I'll do with having two on an island. It's hard because the two I have are probably some of my all time favourite characters, so it'll be tough to let either go!

Edit: I also had two lazies, previously, and that drove me crazy. I'm back to having two lazies as well now, but Punchy is so cute, and Simon is literally my BFF.
