Once again you're taking offense where there is none to be taken. I know she's burned out, but you don't get a free pass to treat people badly when you're angry. So I was just suggesting something that MIGHT make it better. No where did I state that I condone not reading the rules. You're making an argument where there wasn't one.

I wasn't justifying her response either. Nor was I justifying the use of a zillion colours in the layout. I was just pointing out that not liking the layout -- which you noted as a potential primary reason people weren't reading the rules -- is still no justification for not doing so.

And I'm not certain how I can "once again" be taking offense as this is the first I've entered the discussion and only did so in an attempt to explain how the rules became so convoluted while also noting that there are ways to make it perfectly palatable to readers prepped only for the blandest of presentations.

Well to be honest you guys DID right a novel on the front page, and everything is in crazy coloring makes it hard to concentrate.
I make websites and do lots of display work and thats a big no-no. It makes people confused and overwhelmed.

Funny you mention all the colors in the rules. Why we have so many rules to begin with? People keep asking questions that myself and the others are sick of answering. I don't answer much anymore because I don't want to snap at people.

I put things in color on purpose since seeing one large black blob isn't helpful. Neither is one large blob of color text. I can tell you from experience that trying to read a large blob of text can make my eyes unfocused if I'm not careful.

I've designed websites myself and I know the different colors can confuse people. However, I wanted to try and break things up.

I wanted it to keep it short, but how can I when people just don't listen? I never planned to have the rules as long as they are. If you have any ideas, please, I'd love to hear them (over PM since this is already got out of hand from what I've seen on the thread).

Because I don't know how to shorten it and people will read it. I've seen people who have next to nothing with text and people STILL don't read it.

I think the rules are very clear and easy to read. I think the purple is soothing on the eyes and the other colors helps point out the crucial info of the rule page. Yep, its long, but after 2 threads of cycling, I think we have almost everything covered on our rule page that might have been a question, or could become a question, rather than have to answer the same questions over and over again. The ONLY thing I would change on it honestly, would be to ADD that in the instance that someone does not have dreamy proof with a popular villager, the person vouching for them MUST be a reliable and trusted person on this board. IE: have a good wifi rating, been here for more than a month, etc... If people do not like our rules, then go lurk somewhere else. Doesn't hurt my feelings at all. I joined this group because I ADORE these lovely ladies, and because after all the help I got stocking my kids towns full of their favorite villagers, I thought I'd help others do the same : ) Enough said. Moving on.

If its catchphrase changes to another villager's one, phew! You've escaped a plague! If another catches it, pray that it doesn't go on. If everyone catches it, well, your stuck with the plague. If someone pings you to change their catchphrase, you HAVE to change it to ''cough'' or ''sneeze'' or ''a-choo!''

I don't see the reason or the point in lying about having a brother lol it wouldn't benefit me in any way
