dang is that true for ones with a vague ending time too? because i just browsed the most recent pages of the new neighbor network and over half of them qualify for reporting then
If it were me putting a villager up for auction or giving it away or selling it, I’d really need the person to have a plot available. I’d rather not potentially be kept waiting all day, or for hours only for things to fall through, and also since I don’t time travel, the situation would be a bit time sensitive anyway.
I've been on both ends of this. I have been a seller, and honestly to wait for an unknown amount of hours gives me anxiety too. I have IRL things to do, or I want to get rid of this villager so I can progress in my own game. I do try to give them some time, but honestly, it's just easier on me to move onto someone who does have an immediate open plot.
But on the other end, I have bid on an auction, rushed to have an open plot, only to find that the auctioner extended the time or ended it so more people can bid on it, which completely ruins my plan and now I have to rush to fill this empty plot I just created.
The weirdest aspect of the auctions to me is the prices some people demand for their villagers.
There was recently an auction for Marshal which didn't specify a price and invited any offers, so somebody offered 10NMTs. This was turned down and the seller hung on for a better price (which is fair enough), but when the better offer fell through, rather than going back to the original offer, taking the 10NMTs and giving Marshal to someone who wanted him, they voided him.
I get that certain villagers are quite sought after and can sell for a decent amount, but surely you also have to accept that it's just the luck of the draw as to who's online and looking for that villager around the time you post your auction?
